Valorant Champions Day 9 Recap: KRÜ Esports Makes Shocking Entry into Semi-Finals

Day 9 of Valorant Champions has come to a close with KRÜ Esports making an unexpected entry into the semi-finals after knocking out Fnatic. The Latin American esports organization, KRÜ Esports, was formed late last year by soccer player Sergio Agüero. The team has consistently been a part of the international Masters events but its appearance at the world championships has been the most impressive.

In the night’s other matchup, Stage Three champions Gambit Esports made it to the semi-finals after taking out Southeast Asia’s X10 Crit. There will be no matches tonight and the world championships resume on 11th December 2021 with the four semi-finalists going up against each other.

Gambit Esports vs X10 Crit (Gambit Esports won 2-1)

Stage Three Champions Gambit Esports took out Southeast Asia’s last remaining team X10 Crit after a hard-fought victory. Gambit started off with a clean 13-7 victory but X10 quickly responded with the same scoreline in the second map.

In the third and final game, Gambit’s Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov popped off with twenty kills on the board along with just ten deaths. It has not been smooth sailing for Gambit throughout the event, but the team has managed to get the job done on every occasion. It remains to be seen if Gambit can carry forward its momentum from Masters Berlin and earn the world championships.

KRÜ Esports vs Fnatic (KRÜ Esports won 2-1)

With Gambit Esports knocking out Southeast Asia’s X10 Crit, fans were expecting all-European semi-finals. But KRÜ Esports proved why the team should not be written off. While it might not have the years of history behind it compared to other esports organizations, the team has managed to go toe-to-toe with the world’s best.

Angelo “Keznit” Mori undoubtedly had his best performance on LAN to date with 69 kills on the board and an average combat score (ACS) of over 300. Fnatic simply could not deal with him as he helped his team reach the semi-finals of the most high-stakes Valorant event yet.
