The Valorant Champions 2022 came to an end with Brazil’s LOUD Esports defeating OpTic Gaming from North America (NA) and lifting the Champions trophy. According to data from Esports Charts, the final best-of-five (BO5) series drew a much larger peak audience than Valorant Champions 2021. Taking into consideration the official broadcasts and co-streams, the grand final attracted over 1.5 Million viewers at the end of the decider map.

LOUD won Valorant Champions with a resounding 3-1 victory. It made it to the final series of the tournament after defeating the likes of Leviatán, DRX, and OpTic Gaming in the playoff bracket and all of them were 2-0 wins.


1.5M viewers tune into Valorant Champions 2022 final

The Valorant Champions 2022 Grand Final between LOUD and OpTic Gaming managed to break all the figures recorded during last year’s grand final. According to Esports Charts, the peak viewers number was 38.2% higher, the average viewers figure was 44.7% higher and Valorant Champions 2022 finals also saw a 38% increase in the hours watched segment.

The top three popular matches of Valorant Champions 2022 are as follows:

  • Grand Final: OpTic vs LOUD - 1,505,804 peak viewers

  • Lower Bracket Final: OpTic vs DRX - 1,001,726 peak viewers

  • Playoffs Day 6: OpTic vs LOUD - 875,688 peak viewers

OpTic Gaming from North America has been featured in all three matches, making the team one of the most famous international Valorant rosters. OpTic also reached one million concurrent viewers in the Reykjavík 2022 final versus LOUD.

Notably, Valorant Champions was broadcast on Twitch, Afreeca TV, Trovo, YouTube, and Facebook. Riot Games brought some of the biggest streamers and content creators in Valorant to Istanbul, Turkey and this paid off big time.

Additionally, the matchup between EDward Gaming and Paper Rex on Day 1 of Valorant Champions 2022 became the most viewed opening match across all Valorant Champions Tour events to date with over 760,000 peak concurrent viewers tuning in, according to data from Esports Charts.


The Valorant Champions 2022 skin bundle generated over $16 Million USD.

It went on sale on 23rd August and will be available until 21st September. Riot stated that 50% of the net proceeds from the sales will go toward the teams and this indicates that Riot Games has already generated over $32 Million USD through the sale.
