TSM took to its official subreddit to talk about its return to esports.
On 20th May 2023, TSM officially announced its intention to leave the North American LCS and move its operations to another region.
Following this, Shopify Rebellion bought TSM's LCS slot in September 2023.

Team SoloMid (TSM), to date, remains one of the most storied and successful organizations in the history of North American League of Legends. After facing ups and downs in the last couple of years, on 20th May 2023, TSM announced it would leave the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) in North America. Following this, Shopify Rebellion bought TSM's LCS slot in September 2023.

While in the original announcement TSM mentioned that it would compete in League of Legends esports albeit in a different region, the organization failed to communicate about its next move and explain its absence from Season 2024.

As a result, on 30th January 2024, TSM took to its official subreddit to address its fans' concerns. It wrote on Reddit, "We've seen your frustrations, and we understand and appreciate the patience you've shown as we've been working behind the scenes on our esports strategy."

Assuring that TSM is still fully committed to esports, the organization also promised to provide quarterly updates to its fans. Having said that, it talked about its participation in several esports titles including League of Legends. Here's what it said in its update.

TSM Address Its Fans

TSM acknowledged its fans and the frustrations they have had. It appreciated the community's patience and assured them that it has been working diligently behind the scenes on its esports strategy.

While it said it cannot share finer details about its future plans, it confirmed that it was actively looking to participate in multiple Tier 1 esports titles including League of Legends, Valorant, and Call of Duty.

TSM's Participation in League of Legends Esports

In its post, TSM said it was working towards its goal of securing a League of Legends franchise slot in a Tier 1 region by the end of this year in 2024. It added, "This process takes time and requires patience as negotiations of this magnitude have many hurdles along the way. We are equally as eager as you are for TSM to return to LoL Esports!"

It should be noted that following TSM's departure, Shopify Rebellion purchased its slot in the LCS and is competing in the now eight-team league.

Apart from League of Legends, TSM is keen on competing in Valorant and Call of Duty. It said, "It is also our strong desire to be in VALORANT Champions Tour. We will continue to evaluate the VALORANT Challengers League viability after Open Qualifiers have ended."

It added that it would also love to be a part of the dedicated community of Call of Duty. That aside, it announced that it is rejoining the Rocket League competitive space and is also looking to enter new game titles.

It concluded its statement by saying: "Rest assured, we're listening, and our goal is to give you great teams to cheer for under the TSM banner. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and unyielding love for the black-and-white."
