After a long 11-hour stream, TSM Apex Legends pro player ImperialHal hit Rank 1 Predator in Season 14 of Apex Legends.
When he started the stream, he was ranked 28 on the leaderboard and is now competing with ChaoticMuch for that number one spot.

Season 14 kicked off in Apex Legends on 9th August and pro players are already testing out new team comps and strategies on the reworked Kings Canyon map. After an intense 11-hour grind on Apex Legends ranked leagues on his Twitch stream, Team SoloMid player Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen hit Rank 1 Predator early on 12th August. ImperialHal played Horizon along with his squadmates TSM Evan "Verhulst" Verhulst and Ryan "Reptar" Boyd, who last played for Complexity Gaming. However, streamer Nathan "ChaoticMuch" Gajkiewicz, who was Rank 1 right before ImperialHal, climbed right back up on the leaderboard after the TSM pro logged off for the day. Before ending his stream, TSM ImperialHal tweeted, “Numba 1 CEO,” along with a screenshot of his rank.

ImperialHal reveals plans for the upcoming competitive season of Apex Legends

During his stream, ImperialHal played alongside other players like Verhulst, Reptar and Furia’s streamer Marco "Stuhni" Paramo. When someone on his stream asked about how the changes in Season 14 are going to pan out in the competitive scene and what plans TSM has, ImperialHal revealed that the team is “planning something.” He said, “Right now, we’re planning on something that a lot of people won’t expect that might f*** over some teams. Or it will f*** us over, too. So who knows? Yeah, we’ll see. But other than that I don’t really see anything else changing that much.

ImperialHal could have hinted at a new team composition through his cryptic comment regarding the new competitive season. It could also mean a different strategy when it comes to landing on Kings Canyon.

Notably, at the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) 2022 Championship, TSM finished in 7th place with total earnings of $72K USD.

ImperialHal started the day at Rank 28 Predator and ended up placing first and dethroning Chaoticmuch for a good few minutes. Currently, the top five players on the leaderboard at the time of writing are:

  • ChaoticMuch - 24,116 ranked score

  • ImperialHal - 24,007 ranked score

  • TL Glid - Zachary "Gildersons" Dennis - 23,419 ranked score

  • NRG Sweet - Christopher "sweetdreams" Sexton - 23,318 ranked score

  • C9 StayNaughty - Paris "StayNaughty" Gouzoulis - 23,042 ranked score

TSM ImperialHal and his squadmates have been playing the team composition of Seer, Valkyrie, and Horizon. Despite the nerfs, pro players have been running comps around Valkyrie on Kings Canyon and this could still probably be due to the fact that her Ultimate Skyward Dive is vital in repositioning as a squad. All in all, Season 14: Hunted of Apex Legends is already beginning to show fierce competition and the competitive scene moving ahead seems to be quite promising this year around.
