Team Liquid (TL) is headed to Valorant Champions and it will be representing Europe alongside Gambit Esports, Acend and Fnatic at the world championships. The team won 3-1 against Swedish team Guild Esports and cemented its place as one of the stalwarts of Europe. The signing of Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom earlier this year created quite the impact. Nivera and his brother Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom were the top two fraggers for two out of the four games at the grand finals of the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Europe Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).

Team Liquid vs Guild Esports Recap

Match 1 (Guild Esports won 13-7)

After suffering a 2-0 loss the first time, Guild Esports went up against TL. It looked like the Swedish team came prepared for the rematch. Guild Esports managed to secure a 13-7 win with Leo “Leo” Jannesson putting on a solid performance.

Match 2 (Team Liquid won 13-10)

Things started going wrong for Guild Esports as Team Liquid pulled off a comeback after falling behind in the first half. The second half of the game on Ascent was one-sided with TL ending the round 8-3 and winning the game 13-10 overall.

Match 3 (Team Liquid won 13-7)

It was Team Liquid’s Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen who turned it up at the grand finals to shut down Guild’s defenses on Split with 24 crucial kills, inching his team closer to Champions. Guild looked uncoordinated and despite a solid first game, the Swedish team was unable to keep up with Liquid.

Match 4 (Team Liquid won 13-7)

It was a perfect repeat of the previous game as Team Liquid won the first half 8-4 and closed out the game with a 5-3 scoreline in the second half. Brothers ScreaM and Nivera were on fire as the duo scored a total of 43 kills in the game.

Team Liquid vs Guild Esports Highlights

ScreaM was declared the player of the match and he also ended the event with the highest average combat score at VCT EMEA LCQ. He was also the top fragger for Liquid.

Team Liquid will be competing at Valorant Champions later this year and we now have 15 out of the 16 teams finalized for the upcoming event. The world championships are scheduled to kick off on 1st Dec 2021 in Berlin.
