The winners of VCL 2023 Oceania Split 2, Bonkers, announced on 11th June that they were looking for an esports organization to represent at the upcoming VCT 2023 Ascension Pacific. Shortly after, Bonkers started a public fund campaign to set up a practice bootcamp in Thailand, as there were no teams to scrim against in Oceania.
Two donations that stood out during this campaign and provided more traction to it were made by known personalities, Tarik "tarik" Celik - Streamer and Content Creator, and Manoj "Sentinel" Kasyap - Owner of Velocity Gaming.

Right after qualifying for the regional finals, Bonkers started scouting for an organization to represent that could also fund their bootcamp in Thailand, where they wanted to arrive early and partake in some serious practice for the upcoming tournament.
Bonkers initially thought that Riot Games had not permitted them to sign with an organization for the VCT 2023 Ascension Pacific, so they opened a Go Fund Me campaign.
However, later they clarified that Riot Games had permitted them to join any organization that did not compete in Split 2 of any VCL tournament globally. Further stating, "If we sign with an organization before Ascension (Pacific), any and all donations will be fully refunded."
Two personaities who have donated huge sums to help out Bonkers are tarik and Sentinels, the former donating $1500 AUD ($1027.50 USD) on 17th June while the latter gave a sum of $2000 AUD ($1370 USD) on 13th June.
Apart from them, many others came forward to donate a total of $5762 AUD which is roughly $3947 US. On 17th June, Bonkers stated that they had raised enough funds to cover all their expenses and were looking forward to showing their strength at VCT 2023 Ascension Pacific.
Initially, Bleed Esports who are the champions of VCL 2023 Malaysia and Singapore Split 2, had donated $4000 AUD ($2740 USD) to Bonkers' cause but this amount was later refunded in the interest of competitive integrity.
So instead, Bleed assisted them by providing accommodations and equipment, assisting them with their bootcamp preparations.
Bonkers have already started practicing in its bootcamp in Thailand and it will be interesting to see how this team goes on to perform in the upcoming VCT 2023 Ascension Pacific.
