Smash Bros Player Sweets Arrested for Allegedly Murdering His Mother
Super Smash Bros Ultimate player Colin “Sweets” Boldizar has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of his mother Laurie Collins. A player of the West Washington Smash Bros Ultimate scene, Sweets was taken into the custody of the King County Sheriff deputies of Shoreline following the discovery of a body in the apartment where his mother lived. According to a report by , a decapitated body was found in the apartment when the authorities arrived. A neighbor had come to check on Laurie Collins since her vehicle was still parked at 9.20 am in the morning when she would usually have left for work.
Deputies share details about the homicide
According to the report, the neighbor who had called the deputies also told them that she heard screams from Laurie Collins’ house around 2 am that morning, followed by a series of loud thumping noises. The deputies also stated that the neighbor said that Laurie Collins had been reportedly having ongoing issues with her son Sweets and that he had been issued with a “no contact” order to keep him away from his mother.
The deputies said that Sweets was the one who answered the door and that he immediately closed the door on them and came back out several minutes later. The Komo News report read, “Boldizsar admitted to knowing he was in violation of the court order when asked and told deputies Collins was at work, though he changed his story after they mentioned her car was still there.”
Deputies added that Sweets admitted to arguing with his mother “all the time” when he was reportedly asked about the noises coming from the apartment in the early hours. Additionally, the deputies stated that they found Collins’ body near a baseball bat and that Sweets also had apparent self-inflicted superficial injuries. Following this, Sweets was arrested for an investigation of homicide.
Laurie Collins worked at the Seattle Pacific University’s School of Theology
Laurie Collins was the budget manager at Seattle Pacific University's School of Theology. The university released a statement that said, “The university is deeply saddened by the death of our longtime and treasured colleague Laurie Collins, budget manager in the School of Theology. Many faculty, staff, and students have known and worked with Laurie during her more than 30 years at SPU (Seattle Pacific University). She was a loyal and dedicated assistant for many departments and a faithful colleague whose devotion to Christ was evident through her work. She will be profoundly missed by the SPU community.”
Sweets banned from the Western Washington Smash Scene
Following the alleged homicide, Satellite Smash – the premier stream for Smash Bros Ultimate tournaments in the Pacific North West area announced that Sweets has been permanently banned from the Western Washington Smash scene and all Smash events and communities until the conclusion of the case at the very least.
The Super Smash Bros community and netizens have expressed their shock and grief following the incident.
