The official Apex Legends Twitter teased the potential return of Skull Town.
It is unknown if the POI will be added back to the map or if it will return as a limited-time location.
With a Collections event around the corner, the return of the POI is plausible but there is no official confirmation yet.

Skull Town is one of the most iconic points of interest (POIs) in Apex Legends. It was the first “hot” zone in Apex Legends where everyone loved to land and fight it out in the early rounds. The closed quarters combat amidst the skull of a giant dinosaur made a lot of fans enjoy the game but the joyride came to an end after the location was removed from the game. King’s Canyon is currently not even available in the map rotation but the official Apex Legends Twitter account may have hinted at the possible return of Skull Town in a future season or perhaps as an Arenas map.

There is no official confirmation on whether Skull Town will return to Apex Legends or if t will be a part of Arenas or a limited-time mode.

Opinion: Skull Town is unlikely to return to Apex Legends’ battle-royale mode

Apex Legends has tied in POI changes to the lore and so far, all of the changes have been permanent. Skull Town is unlikely to return to the standard battle royale mode.

However, it can return as an Arenas map. Mirage Voyage was permanently removed from the game but we have the Party Crasher map in Arenas which houses the ship. Skull Town may face a similar fate with the area being restored as part of an Arenas map. Considering the high-octane closed quarters combat it offered, and how popular the location is, Respawn adding back Skull Town as an Arenas map is not out of the books.

Alternatively, the map can also be added back as part of an event. Respawn has done this in the past with the Halloween event re-introducing Skull Town in a night version of old King’s Canyon. The event was well received with the fans because of the introduction of unlimited respawns as zombies, a pet Prowler, wall running and the re-introduction of Skull Town. With a new heirloom Collection event around the corners, fans might get to experience the iconic POI again very soon.
