Sibol Valorant: Everything About Team Philippines at the 32nd SEA Games

The 32nd Southeast Asia (SEA) Games is coming to a close in Cambodia and the Sibol Valorant roster, representing the Philippines, is on top of the leaderboards for Valorant. The team is currently leading the scoreboard undefeated with a score of 4-0, and is all set to qualify for the finals, which will take place on 10th May 2023. The team breezed through the competition on Day 1 of the Group Stage with decisive victories against Team Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia. Sibol Valorant: Selection and Success
Team Philippines went through a demanding selection process. The SIBOL 2023 National Team Selection for the SEA Games 2023 started way back in January and took place over four months. A total of 256 slots for Phase 1 participated in a single elimination best-of-1 qualifier stage before being whittled down to the top 16 which qualified for playoffs.
The teams were combined in the final stages of the qualifiers. Oasis Gaming won against Abaddon Abyss, NAOS Esports and defeated SR Nacague 2-0 in the finals to secure their spot on Team Philippines. The Sibol Valorant team’s roster includes the following players:

The group stage matches for Valorant at the 32nd SEA Games began on 8th May 2023 and will conclude today (9th May). The teams are all playing in a single round-robin format in best-of-one matches and the top 4 teams will be advancing to the Final Stage where they will fight for the Gold Medal. There are 6 countries currently participating in the Valorant segment of the Games. The Philippines is on top of the leaderboards with a score of 4-0. On the first day of the Group Stage, the team won all of its four matches; 13 - 2 against Indonesia, 13 - 7 against Malaysia, 13 - 9 against Vietnam and 13 - 8 against host Cambodia.
Xavi8k and Nexi both picked up 71 and 65 kills respectively during the matches, coming behind Team Singapore’s Vera who picked up 76. If Sibol wins the finals, this will be the Philippines’ third medal in the esports segment of the Games, having already secured a Gold for Wild Rift and Bronze for CrossFire. Fans are excited to see Sibol bring in the inaugural gold medal for Valorant at the Southeast Asian Games.
