Highlights
Rocket League Season 4 will include 2v2 in-game tournaments as well as additional tournament modes including Drop Shot, Snow Day, Hoops, and Rumble.
The rewards from 2v2 and 3v3 tournaments will remain consistent and players will get access to even more tournaments per week in each region.
Season 4 will also introduce a brand-new UI for tournaments with more tournament history information for your account.

Rocket League Season 3 is coming to an end next week and fans are excited to see what’s in store for the next season. Psyonix revealed in an official blog post that the game is receiving the heavily requested 2v2 tournament mode. Two players will be able to compete in 32 team brackets and there will be an increased number of tournaments available starting from next season to accommodate the 2v2 in-game events. The new tournaments will be available at the start of Season 4. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming 2v2 tournaments in Rocket League.

Rocket League 2v2 Tournament overview

The 2v2 tournaments will be available permanently starting from Season 4. However, there will be a limited number of events taking place each week. The most exciting thing about the upcoming 2v2 mode is that you will get the same rewards as 3v3 tournaments. There will be anything between 8-13 tournaments per week per region and players can check out the schedule each week in-game.

Psyonix also intends to add more modes to tournaments in Season 4 including Drop Shot, Snow Day, Hoops, and Rumble, which will be added randomly through the weekly schedules. Your existing tournament rank will determine how you are placed in these extra tournaments. However, the outcome in the fun events will not affect your standard 2v2 or 3v3 tournament rank. It will allow players to compete in some of the more casual modes against other players without risking their tournament rank. However, players will continue to earn Tournament Credits and Tournament Winner titles from these additional events.

New tournament interface coming soon

In addition to the new tournaments coming to the game, Psyonix is also adding a new tournament interface for its Rocket League Competitive Tournaments. Season 4 is coming with an updated look for the Tournaments History tab. This new U.I. will show a log of your Competitive Tournaments history, including when it was entered, how you placed, and the Rank of the Tournament. Players will also be able to view their tournament ranks directly on the Tournament home screen.
