Psyonix has partnered with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc to bring James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 to Rocket League.
The car was featured in 1964’s 'Goldfinger' and it is one of the most recognizable vehicles in cinema history.
More vehicles from James Bond's fleet will be added later in the game as part of the collaboration.

Rocket League is known for some of the most high-profile collaborations in the entertainment industry including Batman, Harry Potter, Rick and Morty, Game of Thrones, and more. The popular vehicular soccer game is set to add to its list of crossovers with the James Bond franchise partnering with Psyonix. The iconic 1963 Aston Martin DB5 which is arguably the most recognizable James Bond car from the movies is coming to Rocket League today. The deal was made possible due to a deal between Rocket League and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Studios Inc, the American media company behind the James Bond cinematic universe.

What to expect from the Rocket League X James Bond crossover

Players will be able to get their hands on the 1963 Aston Martin DB5 as a purchasable skin for their vehicles starting 29th July. The iconic car from 1964’s Goldfinger will be available for purchase in the Item Store for 1,100 credits. But that is not all as more cars from James Bond’s vehicle fleet set are to be added to the game later in 2021.

The deal between Psyonix and MGM is most likely happening to promote the upcoming Bond movie, No Time to Die, which was originally scheduled for a 2020 release. The movie was delayed multiple times and it is now confirmed to air on 30th Sept 2021. Rocket League and James Bond fans will likely get access to more skins and other cosmetics leading up to the release of the movie.

The Aston Martin DB5 cosmetic makes use of the Octane Hitbox and while it does not feature the weaponry from the James Bond film it featured in, it does come with the rocket boost that was shown off in Goldfinger. In addition to the DB5 cosmetic, players get an entire 007 bundle which includes special wheels for the car as well as the ‘Reel Life’ decal.

The Reel Life decal on offer in the bundle is different from the one that was available as part of the Fast and Furious collaboration which happened earlier this year in June. Fans will be able to get their hands on the new Aston Martin bundle starting today but there is no word on when more James Bond cosmetics will be available as part of the collaboration.
