Riot Games revealed an array of new skins coming this season to League of Legends.
It has revealed new skins for a handful of champions through the theme called “Anima Squad”, which combines a futuristic world with a cute animal theme.
It also showed fans a glimpse of the new Ashen Knight Pyke skin, the new seasonal mythic cosmetic for this season.

The League of Legends community is always on its toes to find out the upcoming skins and cosmetics in the game. Riot Games always delivers when it comes to surprising players with the new skins and their chroma packs. It is constantly working towards releasing skins that are contemporary whilst making sure that it is giving champions that have not had skins in a long time, a new look. Season 12 has been quite eventful so far, with a number of new updates and patches released to address the concerns of the community.

Only recently Riot released new LoL skins for the existing cosmetic lines of “Shockblade” and “Bees.” The dust is yet to settle down on these, but before that Riot has revealed the first looks for a bunch of new LoL skins. These include new Anima Squad skins and also the Ashen Knight Pyke skin.

Anima Squad Skinline

One of the most anticipated skin lines for Season 12 is the Anima Squad cosmetics. Riot Games initially gave a glimpse of these new LoL skins during the 2022 League of Legends live stream. From that stream, it became evident that Riven and Miss Fortune would both be getting new skins in the Anima Squad theme. The other champions to don this new look was kept a secret by Riot Games until 1st March. Riot revealed that the Anima Squad cosmetic line will also feature Vayne, Jinx, and Sylas. It has also remodeled Riven’s original Battle Bunny skin into Battle Bunny Prime.

Game director Jonathan “Bellissimoh” Belliss said Riot would be revisiting some of the older themes like High Noon, Star Guardian, and Bees. He said, “We’re also always looking for opportunities to bring back older universes in newer ways. This time around, we found some inspiration looking at an old standalone skin and reimagined it in a world that could exist today.

Throwing more light on this, he added, “Set in a near-future, dying Earth, humanity faces resource shortages and the deadly invasion of an ancient high-tech army. In one final attempt to save themselves, the world bands together to create their only hope for survival. A superpower warrior armed with incredible technology: The Battle Bunny.

He revealed that the Anima Squad universe will sport sleek, high-tech armor, powerful warriors, and cute animals.

The following are the Anima Squad skins that were revealed by Riot Games.

  • Battle Bat Vayne

  • Battle Bunny Miss Fortune

  • Battle Wolf Sylas

  • Battle Cat Jinx

  • Battle Cat Jinx Prestige Edition

  • Battle Bunny Prime Riven

The Battle Cat Jinx skin will also have a Prestige Edition and players can look out for this one in the new Prestige Skin shop that is being developed currently.

Seasonal Mythic theme for 2022

Riot acknowledged the fact that the Hextech skins were not living up to its branding and name and hence said that it would be rolling out seasonal mythics with new themes every year. The theme for Season 12 was declared as “Ashen Knights” and Pyke is the first champion to sport this new seasonal mythic look.

Fans can get their hands on the Anima Squad skins with Patch 12.6, which is set to go live on 30th March. Since most of the skins look like epic skins, they must cost around 1350 RP, though some fans speculate that the Riven or the Miss Fortune skin could be a legendary one for 1820 RP. Get ready to fight your foes with your favorite champions donning a futuristic look with these new Anima Squad skins coming to LoL in Patch 12.6.
