Riot Games released a new teaser for League of Legends’ Arcane which is scheduled to air on Netflix later this year. While the teaser is just 14 seconds long, it showcased Caitlyn and hinted at an appearance revamp for the champion. Caitlyn’s newest model shown off in the new trailer might be in line with what Riot Games has in store for League of Legends. There were other mysterious characters in the trailer as well but it’s hard to accurately identify them. The upcoming LoL series will be airing on Netflix in late 2021. An official release date is not yet available.
What to expect from the League of Legends ‘Arcane’
In the previous teaser younger versions of Jinx and Vi were seen discussing their childhoods. Both characters talk about growing up in Piltover and we can see Vi give Jinx a spyglass and points out what memories she has attached to each place. At the end of the clip, Vi tells Jinx that she is stronger than she thinks and someday the city is going to show some respect. But something seems to have gone wrong between Jinx and Vi over the years resulting in them turning into arch enemies.
Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of Vi and Jinx. Dominique Bazay, Director, Original Animation for Netflix revealed “League of Legends has inspired global fervor and fandom and we’re thrilled to be the home of the first television series set in this universe, Arcane. The series promises to be a visually spectacular thrill ride that will have viewers on the edge of their seats.”
Caitlyn will be making an appearance in 'Arcane'
Going by what was shown in the latest teaser, Caitlyn will be making an appearance along with other League of Legends characters. Riot Games is likely to show off more champions from the LoL roster leading up to the release. There may also be unannounced champions that show up in Arcane.
In addition to the upcoming Netflix Series, Riot Games is also working on a single-player game “Ruined King: A League of Legends Story”, which is also scheduled to release later in 2021. The lead up to the upcoming game has thus far included in-game events in League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics and even a Ruination skin lineup in Valorant. Release dates for ‘Arcane’ and ‘Ruined King’ are yet to be announced.
