Riot Games released a two-minute clip on the League of Legends Weibo page, which shows off Jinx and Vi’s past. The two-minute clip gives fans a glimpse of what the two iconic League of Legends characters were like before they turned into their current selves. The clip shows Vi telling Jinx about her strength and how some day, Piltover will respect her. The clip shared by Riot Games is from the upcoming TV series ‘Arcane’, which will give fans a glimpse into the past of the two characters. With promotional material for Arcane releasing this frequently, its release date may be right around the corner.

Decoding the new League of Legends ‘Arcane’ clip

The new clip which was discovered on the League of Legends Weibo page shows off the younger versions of Jinx and Vi, who are seen discussing their childhoods. Both characters talk about growing up in Piltover and we can see Vi give Jinx a spyglass and points out what memories she has attached to each place. At the end of the clip, Vi tells Jinx that she is stronger than she things and some day the city is going to show some respect.

The series is officially in production in partnership with Fortiche Productions and it is expected to release in Fall 2021 on Netflix. While Riot Games has produced multiple high-quality cinematics over the last decade, it has never released a full-fledged animated feature film or series. This is the studio’s first venture into the traditional entertainment industry.

What is League of Legends ‘Arcane’ about

The upcoming Netflix TV show will feature Jinx and Vi, two of the oldest characters from League of Legends. Jinx draws parallels to Harley Quinn from the DC universe and is a crazy character who loves to blow things up. Vi is a former criminal with anger issues who is now working with the Wardens of Piltover. There is also a third mysterious character shown off in the official trailer and the unknown entity share some characteristics with Viktor who is also from P&Z.

Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of Vi and Jinx. Dominique Bazay, Director, Original Animation for Netflix revealed “League of Legends has inspired global fervor and fandom and we’re thrilled to be the home of the first television series set in this universe, Arcane. The series promises to be a visually spectacular thrill ride that will have viewers on the edge of their seats.”
