Highlights
Legendary G2 Esports trio Wunder, Perkz, and Jankos are reportedly reuniting on Team Heretics’ roster for LEC 2024.
The team is yet to confirm this iconic development. However, the community is hyped to see the trio in the same team again.

With only the top teams from different regions participating in Worlds 2023, most League of Legends pro teams entered the offseason very early on. Now, with only four teams left in the running and Worlds 2023 almost at its tail end, organizations have already started working on their rosters for the upcoming 2024 season.

The offseason is one of the most exciting times in the professional esports scene where fans get hyped and entertained even without watching electric gameplay. The hype is served via the prospective names they see joining the team that they support.

In this scenario of heated roster changes and discussions and plenty of rumors, three of G2 Esports' old guard are reportedly coming together to play under the same banner in the League of Legends Europe, Middle East & Africa Championship (LEC) 2024 season.

According to a report by Sheep Esports, veteran players Luka "Perkz" Perković, Martin "Wunder" Nordahl Hansen, and Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski are joining hands to play under the Team Heretics banner.

Wunder and Perkz to Join Jankos at Team Heretics for 2024

Wunder, Perkz, and Jankos, who used to be the core of G2 Esports' legendary lineup, are reportedly reuniting to play for Team Heretics next season in the LEC, according to Sheep Esports.

Sheep Esports reported, "Mid Laner Luka "Perkz" Perković has reached a verbal agreement with Team Heretics to re-join the LoL EMEA Championship (LEC), according to Sheep Esports sources." It also noted that Wunder also reached a verbal agreement with the Spanish organization.

With Jankos' current contract with the team running till November 2024, the trio will likely play together for at least one year, before Team Heretics makes changes.

Currently, Team Heretics' 2024 roster looks like this:

  • Top: Martin "Wunder" Nordahl Hansen

  • Jungle: Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski

  • Mid: Luka "Perkz" Perković

  • ADC: Victor "Flakked" Lirola Tortosa

  • Support: Norman "Kaiser" Kaiser

Nostalgia Hits Hard With G2 Old Guard's Potential Reunion at Team Heretics

If you have been following the LEC for quite a few years, you will recall the iconic and powerhouse performances of G2 Esports. One of the first players to join G2 Esports when it rebranded from Gamers2 was Perkz who had been its star player for the longest time. It was in 2017 that Wunder and Jankos joined the roster. Later in 2018, with Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther joining the team, Perkz moved to the bottom lane to play as G2's attack damage carry (ADC).

While Perkz left G2 Esports in 2020, Wunder and Jankos stayed with the team till 2021, and 2022, respectively.

From 2017 till 2020, the trio of Wunder, Jankos, and Perkz played together. During this period, G2 Esports managed to win the following titles in the LEC:

  • 2017 Spring Champion

  • 2017 Summer Champion

  • 2018 Spring Runner-up

  • 2019 Spring Champion

  • 2019 Summer Champion

  • 2020 Spring Champion

  • 2020 Summer Champion

Notably, G2 Esports won the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) title in 2019. It also placed second at Worlds 2019 where it lost to FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) in the grand finals with a 0-3 score line.

Fans should keep in mind that Team Heretics has not announced any of its players officially. Even though Jankos and Flakked have running contracts, only time will tell which direction the organization is taking.

If the reports are true, Team Heretics' lineup will potentially be one of the strongest ones in the LEC. With seasoned veterans, who have time and again proved that they can win trophies both domestically and internationally, Team Heretics could be one of the forerunners in the league next year.
