Here is all you need to know about the Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop crossover.

Overwatch 2 teased a collaboration with Cowboy Bebop, a popular 1998 anime series. The Overwatch x Cowboy Bebop crossover was teased in the trailer for the latest season coming to Overwatch 2 along with a competitive rework, a new rank, a new hero mastery course and more. This marks the second anime crossover for the game since its launch in October 2022. Overwatch 2 Season 9: Champions is set to launch on 13th February 2024. Here is all we know about the Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop crossover coming to Season 9: Champions.

Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop 

The crossover was teased during the last few seconds of the Season 9: Champions trailer which featured a greyscale shot of Route 66 and a low shot of what seems to be a Cassidy skin based on Cowboy Bebop protagonist Spike Spiegel. The last few seconds of the trailer feature the iconic opening song from the anime, called Tank!. Tank! was written by Yoko Kanno and performed by the Seatbelts, a diverse band Kanno formed to create the music for Cowboy Bebop. The band also gave music for the anime soundtrack.

The developers are yet to reveal which heroes are getting skins based on the anime. Going by the blueprint of the game’s One Punch Man collab in April 2023 which came out with four skins for heroes; players can expect skins for the main Bebop crew which includes Spike Spiegel, Faye Valentine, Jet Black, Ed and their adorable Welsh Corgi Ein. While fans already have theories about which heroes will be getting themed skins, with some proposing Reinhardt, Tracer, and Sombra as likely candidates. However, players will have to wait until an official announcement. 

Overwatch 2 Season 9: Champions

The new season of Overwatch 2 will be completely overhauling competitive gameplay which features a rank reset, new ways to track progress in each ranked game and the opportunity to earn Jade weapons. The new system will also feature a new rank; Champion. 

A new Hero Mastery course called Gauntlet will also be debuting in the game. The tower defense gameplay shows heroes taking on hordes of enemy robots.  

Players will have to defend towers together against hordes of enemies.

Along with ranked changes, the new season’s battle pass is based on Eldritch Horror with a New Cosmic Crisis and a Mythic Ancient Caller Moira skin.

A Mythic Ancient Called Moira skin is coming to the game along with the&nbsp;Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop Crossover.

The new season also features themed skins for Torbjorn, Bastion, Winston, Sigma, Mei, Widowmaker and Illari. According to OverwatchNaeri Overwatch 2 will also be bringing back the Cupid Hanzo and a Valentine’s Day themed event along with a new Loving Reaper skin.
