Overwatch 2 Season 7: Upcoming Hero Balance Changes
A few Heroes that would be undergoing changes in the upcoming Overwatch 2 Season 7 were pointed out by one of the designers in a recent official blog post. He explained that the reason behind introducing these changes is primarily related to improving the overall game experience while also keeping it fresh across seasons.
Illari
The latest support Hero to join the Overwatch 2 cavalry will witness adjustments being made to the secondary fire of her Solar Rifle, which is the medium-range healing beam.
Zarya
The tank that can deal some serious damage will undergo quite the nerf as certain features of her Projected Barrier ability will be removed.
The size of the Projected Barrier on an ally will be reduced to previous numbers.
The health of the Projected Barrier on an ally will be reduced to previous numbers.
However, despite these nerfs the reduced cooldown of the Projected Barrier will remain unaffected.
Orisa
One of the most picked Tank Heroes in Overwatch 2, Orisa has been in the meta for a long time now and is enjoyed by many players across all ranks. She will be undergoing a nerf with her Fortify ability being slightly tweaked.
The damage reduction gained by Fortify will be reduced.
Torbjorn
The bearded Hero armed with a rivet gun and hammer will witness a slight nerf with his primary fire after being a favorite pick through the current season.
The recovery time of Torbjorn's primary fire will be nerfed.
Mei
The damage dealing Hero with her weather-altering device has been under the radar quite often. She underwent a flurry of nerfs and buffs recently but the developers are still not satisfied with her current positioning.
The changes that were introduced along with Overwatch 2 Season 5 will be reviewed and nerfed, in order to make Mei more engaging and effective for playing.
Sombra
The sneaky Hero will be undergoing a massive rework at the start of Overwatch 2 Season 7. This was something that has already been announced by the developers, but now we know a few more details and hints about what to expect.
The changes will make Sombra more committal when engaging.
Her overall kit will be changes to reflect a more active feeling during the game.
Sombra will continue holding her current hacker identity and playstyle.
She will be getting a new ability, details about which will be provided in the weeks ahead.
Roadhog
The one-shot trick king is getting the finishing touches of his updated arsenal which will be introduced along with Overwatch 2 Season 7 Mid-Season Patch.
Roadhog's ability to protect his team and claim space will be increased.
His overall identity and playstyle will be maintained.
Some of his powers will be moved around so that everything is not completely dependent on his ability to one-shot others.
Roadhog will get a new ability, details about which will be provided in the weeks ahead.
These are some of the Heroes that will be undergoing balance changes in the upcoming Overwatch 2 Season 7. While the ones listed above have been discussed by Alec, there could be more that will appear in the final patch notes, expected to be released along with the update on 10th October.
