NICKMERCS Feels Fortnite’s Skill Cap Is “Insane” Compared to Apex and Warzone

Nicholas ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, and he has been spending a lot of time trying to get to Apex Predator in Apex Legends. The popular streamer has been struggling to get past Diamond IV and he talked about how much harder the game is compared to Warzone. But the game that he thinks is even tougher than Apex Legends, is Fortnite. He recently talked about how he finds Apex Legends much harder than Warzone, but he finds Fortnite the hardest due to its building mechanics being quite demanding, especially as a controller player.

Why does NICKMERCS think Fortnite is harder than Apex Legends and Warzone?

NICKMERCS has competitive experience in both Fortnite and Warzone, and he has been playing a lot of Apex Legends’ ranked mode recently. When comparing all three titles, he said that, “there’s no game like Fortnite.” He feels that if you are a controller player, you have to do so much that it becomes physically demanding for your hands.

Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek talked about how Fortnite is the best competitive battle royale because of its building aspects. While Shroud prefers Apex Legends to any other BR in terms of personal enjoyment, he said that the building aspect of Fortnite makes it stand out from other battle royales. Fortnite players have to fight and build at the same time which makes it quite demanding.

Warzone is at the number three spot in terms of difficulty according to NICKMERCS with the streamer putting Apex Legends behind Fortnite. He said, “I’ve been playing Apex Legends for a week and a half. I’ll say this, Apex Legends is more difficult than Warzone. It’s aiming and shooting just like Warzone, it’s positional just like Warzone, it’s awareness just like Warzone. All those things across the board. But Apex has abilities. Super f***ing abilities. And I think that’s a big caveat that you can’t ignore.”

While Apex Legends is similar in concept to other battle royales, it stands out with its unique characters that have abilities which can completely change how you approach fights. Apex was also the first game to introduce a respawn mechanic in a battle royale and its ping system is lauded by players and content creators alike.

FaZe Clan posted a clip of NICKMERCS talking about Fortnite’s difficulty and most of the people on Twitter seem to agree with him. Mastering Fortnite’s building mechanics has a high skill ceiling and the game has proven to be very successful with over 15 million concurrent players participating in the game’s events. Its playerbase is rock solid despite the game being older than Warzone and Apex Legends.
