Star Guardian skins are reportedly making a comeback this year and the League of Legends community has been hard at work to find out every little detail about this release. Over the past few weeks, there have been many rumors and leaks surrounding the Star Guardian event, which is reportedly coming our way in LoL Patch 12.3 or LoL Patch 12.4. Players also have a fair idea of which champions are getting a sparkly makeover on the Summoner’s Rift. The upcoming Star Guardian event is likely to feature ten champions, and Nilah, the new melee attack damage carry (ADC) will reportedly receive a Star Guardian cosmetic upon release.
According to the lore, Star Guardians in League of Legends are a series of parallel universe skins that follow the story of a group of high school students who choose to become cosmic protectors. They are tasked with battling cosmic enemies threatening the universe.
The champions who are reportedly featured in the new starry lineup are:
Akali
Kai'Sa
Ekko
Taliyah
Rell
Morgana
Quinn
Fiddlesticks
Sona
Syndra
Nilah
Both Syndra and Ekko are rumored to be receiving Prestige skins with separate splash arts and new animations. Notably, Star Guardian Akali and Kai'Sa are going to be Legendary skins in the game.
League of Legends Star Guardian Akali & Kai’Sa Concept Art leaked
Big Bad Bear, a credible leaker in the community, shared the images of Star Guardian Akali and Kai’Sa on his Twitter handle. With these skins being branded as legendary, players can expect a cost of 1820 RP. Even though the animations of these skins have not been revealed, the in-game model and the concept art of these skins have been doing the rounds on social media.
The Akali skin has a dark blue and purple theme going on and Akali can be seen sporting her iconic ponytail. Her weapons – Kama and Kunai – also have the same color decals on them. On the other hand, Kai’Sa’s Star Guardian skin is pink for the most part with hints of a delicate violet color.
Riot Games also introduced Corrupted Star Guardians through the Xayah- Rakan and Zoe skins; these cosmetics have a darker shade compared to the other Star Guardians. Since Akali’s skin is also darker, it could possibly mean that she would be a corrupted Guardian.
Despite the numerous leaks, Riot Games is yet to reveal champions getting a starry makeover in 2022 and is yet to announce the dates for the dedicated event in the League of Legends client.
