BLG ADC Elk holds the highest KDA ratio in the first stage of the Play-In at MSI 2023, followed by G2 Caps.
Here are their stats from the MSI 2023 Play-In stage.

League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2023 is kicking off the much-awaited Bracket Stage today on 9th May with eight teams participating. The dust is yet to settle down from the high-voltage Play-In that fans witnessed in the first stage of the tournament. While Bilibili Gaming (BLG), G2 Esports (G2), and Golden Guardians (GG) qualified, the other teams from minor regions were knocked out of MSI 2023 contention in a double-elimination bracket.

BLG’s attack-damage carry (ADC) Zhao "Elk" Jia-Hao holds the highest KDA [Kill/Death/Assist] ratio in the first stage of the Play-In at MSI 2023, followed by G2 mid-laner Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther.

BLG Elk dominates KDA charts in MSI 2023 Play-In Stage

From the League of Legends Pro League (LPL), BLG came into the tournament as the second seed and had to fight for its spot in the main bracket via the Play-In. The Chinese representative played two best-of-three series against Movistar R7 (2-0) from Latin America and Golden Guardians (2-1) from North America. BLG won both these series and qualified to the Bracket Stage without having to play in the lower bracket.

Despite fewer games played, BLG’s ADC player Elk holds the highest KDA record in the Play-In stage. Elk played two games on Jinx and one game each on Lucian, Aphelios, and Xayah.

The following are his statistics:

  • Total games played in MSI 2023 Play-In: 5

  • Win Rate: 80%

  • KDA ratio: 8.8

  • Average kills: 8.2

  • Average deaths: 1.8

  • Average Assists: 7.6

  • CSM [Creep Score per Minute]: 9.9

  • GPM [Gold per Minute]: 557

  • Kill participation: 72.5%

Interestingly, three G2 Esports players are featured on the top five highest KDA list at MSI 2023 Play-In Stage. Just like BLG, G2 Esports also won both the BO3 series it played [2-0 against both LOUD and PSG Talon] and directly qualified for the next stage of the tournament without dropping to the lower bracket.

Following BLG Elk’s KDA is G2 Esports star player Caps. Here are his stats from MSI 2023 Play-In:

  • Total games played in MSI 2023 Play-In: 4

  • Win Rate: 100%

  • KDA ratio: 8.3

  • Average kills: 2.8

  • Average deaths: 2.3

  • Average Assists: 16

  • CSM [Creep Score per Minute]: 6.4

  • GPM [Gold per Minute]: 381

  • Kill participation: 73.6%

Meanwhile, G2 Esports jungler Martin "Yike" Sundelin had the third-highest KDA of 7.7 at Play-In. G2 top-laner Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik had the fifth-highest KDA at the opening stage of MSI 2023 with 7.5.

(All the stats mentioned in this article have been sourced from Games of Legends.)

It will be interesting to see if these players continue to dominate the second part of the tournament against the likes of goliaths like Gen.G, T1, and other Western champions like MAD Lions, Cloud9 and JD Gaming.
