The 2021 Esports Awards will take place later this year and the finalists of the event’s categories have been officially announced. The winners from each of these categories will be declared on 20 November, 2021. The event highlights the works of not just esports athletes but also content creators, hardware providers, game publishers and more. There are eight different “industry” categories that fans can vote in to choose the winners. Fans can head to the official website and vote for their favorite creators, esports athletes, games and more. Here is a look at all of the finalists for this year’s Esports Awards.
MortaL nominated for 'streamer of the year' for the second time
Indian streamer MortaL was nominated in the 'streamer of the year' category for the second time in a row. The content creator was nominated for 'streamer of the year' and 'mobile esports player of the year' in 2020 where he came in 2nd and 3rd respectively. It remains to be seen if he manages to edge the likes of xQc, Valkyrae, Shroud and Ludwig to snatch first place this year.
Mobile esports title 'Free Fire' may dominate the event again in 2021
Mobile esports was introduced to Esports Awards last year and Free Fire took home the 'mobile esports game of the year' in 2020. With the title experiencing even bigger viewership this year at the Free Fire Pro League and other events, it might take home the award once again in 2021. With mobile esports titles being added to the esports game of the year award against the likes of Valorant and CS:GO, it will be interesting to see how PC vs mobile esports voting pans out.
