S8UL Esports recently won the ‘Content Group of the Year’ award at The Esports Awards 2022. On the other hand, Nadeshot defeated MortaL by winning the ‘Personality of the Year’ award
In a recent livestream, MortaL expressed his delight on S8UL Esports winning the ‘Content Group of the Year’ award.
He explained that he was nominated for the ‘Personality of the Year’ award for the first time, whereas Nadeshot had been nominated previously. Hence, Nadeshot had the upper hand over him.

S8UL Esports won the ‘Content Group of the Year’ award at The Esports Awards 2022, in spite of being up for contention alongside other big-league organizations like 100 Thieves, FaZe Clan, LOUD, One True King, OfflineTV, and more. It was the first time an Indian esports organization was nominated or won an award at the stage of The Esports Awards.

However, S8UL Esports’ co-founder Naman “MortaL” Mathur, who was also nominated for the ‘Personality of the Year’ award was not able to claim that trophy. In a recent livestream, MortaL expressed his emotions on S8UL Esports winning the ‘Content Group of the Year’ award. He also explained why he might not have won the ‘Personality of the Year’ award.

In a livestream, post the award ceremony, MortaL congratulated all his viewers and expressed his delight. “Congratulations! S8UL has done it! What a moment it was for all of us. It was one of the best moments ever. Today has been marked as one of the best of my life. I doubt I’ll ever get to see a day as good as today,” said MortaL.

After this, MortaL thanked all the fans who voted for S8UL Esports and the creators who have worked hard to make content for S8UL Esports. “It was obviously because of all of you guys. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us and supported us day in and day out. It really mattered a lot. Kudos to all the S8UL creators who have been working hard for the video, especially in recent times; they have been giving their best,” said MortaL.

When The Esports Awards 2022 was broadcasting live on various platforms, MortaL was livestreaming with other S8UL Esports members on his YouTube channel. All members were watching the event live and reacting to it. When it was announced that S8UL Esports had won the ‘Content Group of the Year,’ everyone on MortaL’s stream started screaming and celebrating.

“The moment we screamed after hearing the results, that moment gave me goosebumps. It shook me. What a moment it was,” said MortaL.

During his winning speech, co-founder of S8UL Esports, Animesh “Thug” Agarwal, stated that the organization is planning an expansion beyond Indian borders. Talking about this, MortaL said, “It will be more fun moving on. Everyone's so excited about how we will operate everything in the future. It will be fun for everyone.”

MortaL explains why he might not have won the ‘Personality of the Year’ award

In 2020, MortaL created history by becoming the first ever Indian to be nominated for The Esports Awards. Back then, MortaL finished second under the category of ‘Streamer of the Year’ and third in ‘Esports Mobile Player of the Year.’ This was followed by MortaL being nominated under the category of ‘Streamer of the Year’ once again in 2021, but for the second year in a row, he could not grab the elusive trophy. In Esports Awards 2022, he was first time nominated for the ‘Personality of the Year’ award, alongside 11 of the biggest names from across the global esports industry. Unfortunately, MortaL did not win the awards, and Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag was crowned the Personality of the Year.

Explaining why he might not have won the award, MortaL said, “It is about a lot of factors. Nadeshot has been nominated for the ‘Personality of the Year’ award for the past two or three years, maybe. The ‘Personality of the Year’ award is something different (than the ‘Content Group of the Year’ award). I was nominated for the award this year for the first time. Maybe they will see how my Personality will be in the future.”

S8UL Esports made the entire India proud by winning the ‘Content Group of the Year’ award. Although MortaL did not win the ‘Personality of the Year’ award, getting nominated for such a highly regarded award is an achievement in itself.
