League of Legends Season 11 is coming to an end but Riot Games will continue to balance the meta with patch 11.16, set to bring in some nerfs for Lee Sin and Lulu. There are also some buffs that have been planned for the upcoming update according to Jeevun “Jag” Sidhu, who is the lead game designer on the Summoner’s Rift team for League of Legends. Players should be excited for the buffs in League of Legends patch 11.16 as it should push a lot of off-meta characters back into viability. Here is a look at all of the major changes that are being worked on in League of Legends patch 11.16.
Major changes in League of Legends patch 11.16
Maokai is one of the characters who will receive tweaks in League of Legends patch 11.16. It is currently unknown what changes he will receive in the upcoming update but if his 0.4% pick rate is anything to go by, he needs some serious changes to become viable again.
Nunu and Willump, Jarvan IV, and Shaco are set to receive some buffs with some long-awaited buffs being present in League of Legends patch 11.16. But there is some bad news for Dr Mundo fans who have been waiting for some promised changes. Jag revealed in his patch preview that the buffs Riot Games was working on would push his winrate up too high and they have been scrapped.
Vladimir, the fiend with a thirst for mortal blood is set to receive some major buffs with his pick rate being abysmally low currently. Jhin and Sivir are receiving indirect buffs through changes to the Fleet Footwork rune. The rune was one of the most popular options for both champions but it fell out of the meta with Dark Harvest replacing it.
League of Legends’ next patch will also introduce some changes to Sona which have been in development for a while to make her kit work better with the Season 11 mana changes. The upcoming patch will be releasing on 11th August, putting a huge three-week gap between patch 11.15 and 11.16. It will be interesting to see if the changes to Shaco and Jarvan IV will finally bring them back into the jungler meta as they have been missing from the top tiers of ranked play for multiple patches.
