Riot Games broke League of Legends with the release of LoL Patch 13.20.
With multiple aspects of the game broken, developers had to rush multiple fixes and roll them out very fast.
Here's all we know about what went wrong with the latest patch in League of Legends.

Riot Games and its band of developers for League of Legends hurriedly rolled out multiple hot-fixes within a day to address all the bugs and game-breaking issues that cropped up after the publisher pushed the latest patch, LoL Patch 13.20, on 11th October.

Given how big League of Legends is, it is very natural for certain champions or parts of the game to remain unchanged for a long time. However, when new champions, systems or other mechanics are introduced into the mix, there are chances of glitches and game-breaking bugs to occur.

In such a scenario, multiple systems and champions were bugged and glitched out after the roll out of LoL Patch 13.20, prompting the developers to quickly resolve them.

Here's what happened after LoL Patch 13.20 went live.

Developers Hurry to Fix League of Legends after LoL Patch 13.20 Breaks the Game

On 11th October, resident bug spotter and YouTuber Vandiril flagged, "Okay League of Legends is currently DYING. This patch is something else. Holes in the maps, plants in the base, dragon maps broken. We have it ALL right now..."

Aside from random holes on the map, jungle plants appearing out of place, and elemental dragon maps being bugged out, champions like Illaoi, Tryndamere and Shaco were also completely broken post LoL Patch 13.20.

Commenting on this issue, pro player Kevin "Mishigu" Westerbacka wrote, "Not even the worst part, 6 days ago the Worlds map got dropped on Tournament Realm so, resulting in us not being able to scrim anymore, Riot knew this would happen and still released it..."

Clarifying this further, Mishigu explained how the Elemental Rift gets broken when Riot Games added the Worlds assets into the game. For example, when the Rift turns into the Infernal one, the bushes are gone. However, the player claimed that the bushes are still in place but just that they go invisible, therefore preventing them from playing the right champions or using the right abilities.

However, Riot Games has now reportedly reverted the Worlds map accents on Tournament Realm, the server for scrims.

What were these Game-Breaking Bugs in LoL Patch 13.20?

The Tryndamere bug was first spotted and reported on 27th September when the current patch was in Public Beta Environment (PBE). The bug had to do with his E - Spinning Slash.

One Twitter user brought this to the attention of Riot Games developers and wrote, "Currently on the PBE, there's a bug where Tryndamere doesn't deal damage with the area of his E spin, it should deal damage in that circle but it doesn't."

Likewise, Illaoi’s Test of Faith was also bugged out along with a stealthy jungle bug that was giving players drastically reduced XP if they weren’t close to their jungle camp when it died.

Another interesting observation was how Shaco’s win rate also drastically dropped and nobody could deduce before the hotfixes.

Riot Games Rushes Hotfixes for LoL Patch 13.20

The following are the hotfixes that were rushed out to fix League of Legends post LoL Patch 13.20:

1. Tryndamere hotfix

2. Fix for the Jax, Illaoi, and Jungle camp experience/item stacking bugs.

3. A fix for a bug that was causing terrain and plants on Summoner's Rift to be missing and/or in the incorrect locations.

While most of these issues have been sorting out pretty quickly, players are still calling out Riot Games for not scrutinizing them while the patch was live on the PBE.
