LoL Patch 12.12 Preview: Nerfs for Shaco, Katarina Build Paths, Bel’Veth & More
Riot Games revealed the preview for LoL Patch 12.12 and there are 20 champions lined up for buffs, debuffs, and adjustments to build paths in League of Legends (LoL). Since LoL Patch 12.10 and the Durability Update, Riot Games has been releasing more extensive patches and mid-patch hotfixes to balance the state of the game.
Riot’s Associate Game Designer Tim “TheTruexy” Jiang wrote on Twitter, “12.12 Patch Preview! A bit of a smaller patch as we continue to collect data on bigger things like overall Lethality/Game time/Role power.”
TheTruexy added that the company was targeting healing outliers from nerfed Grievous Wounds, durability updates to pets along with some more buffs, and adjusting some build paths that were buffed/nerfed in LoL Patch 12.10.
Additionally, lead designer on game balance Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison said, “A few other notes: - We intend to balance around 40% GW [Grievous Wounds] and move towards being a purchase that doesn't feel great without a critical mass of healing. (eg. Aatrox + Soraka) - We're hitting some heal outliers this patch and re-evaluating others next patch on a case-by-case basis."

A total of eight champions will be nerfed in the upcoming LoL Patch 12.12 and this includes the latest champion to enter the Summoner’s Rift - Bel’Veth.

Apart from these direct buffs and nerfs, Riot Games is adjusting and playing around with the item builds of Katarina and Shaco. In addition, Yuumi and Soraka will also have their healing output adjusted in the game.
Riot Games has not yet revealed the nature and extent of these buffs and nerfs, but they will soon be known when the company releases the expanded patch preview in the coming day or two. According to Riot’s , LoL Patch 12.12 is slated to go live on the servers on 23rd June, Thursday.
