LoL Patch 12.10: Durability Update Headlines Changes for All Champions
Two weeks ago Riot Games revealed a massive list of changes coming players’ way through the durability update in LoL Patch 12.10 that would boost vital stats for all the 159 champions in League of Legends (LoL). Riot will also be nerfing and making adjustments to the surrounding systems of the Summoner’s Rift to hit the right balance. This is Riot’s way of combating and reducing the overall amount of damage present in the game currently
Game designer Ezra “Phlox” Lynn confirmed the slated changes for LoL Patch 12.10 and explained some of the thought processes behind these changes. He wrote, “The TLDR is this is a pretty disruptive patch and we'll be watching closely and ready to react. I'd love to know what y'all think about this patch!”
Lynn said that since LoL 12.10 is a pretty massive patch, Riot is holding off all balance changes for it and that the company is expecting to do a balance micropatch following the release of the durability update on 25th May.
According to Riot’s developers (devs), these sweeping changes are not predictable enough for the team to zero in on champions that will be overpowered, and by what margin before the release. Lynn stated that it would be a fun time figuring out new builds and counters for all of the champions from scratch, basically.
Champion Adjustments in LoL Patch 12.10
All champions are getting a boost in their base health, health per level, armor per level, and magic resist per level.
They are as follows:
Base Health: +70
Health per level: +14
Armor per level: +1.2
Magic Resist per level: +0.8
Champion healing will be reduced by 10-28% and champion shielding will be reduced by 10%. Explaining this nerf, Lynn said, “If we didn't adjust healing and shielding, sustain champs would be absolutely unkillable and buffed waaay more than their counterparts. We're not trying to swap league into a Mega-Mundo-Meta.”
LoL Patch 12.10: System Adjustments
Riot Games is also targeting the healing and shielding of the systems in League of Legends.
Systems with Healing: Reducing by 10-28%
Systems with Shielding: Reducing by 10%
Riot will also be chopping down on the powers of Grievous Wounds by 10% in both regular and enhanced circumstances for items and champions. Meanwhile, armor and magic penetration items have their powers reduced by 5% to 10%. Notably, towers and Baron Nashor will do more damage to champions starting with LoL Patch 12.10.
Players will not likely understand the meta and might find the changes overwhelming in LoL Patch 12.10 but after Riot releases a micropatch to hit the right balance, things should hopefully work like clockwork again. LoL Patch 12.10 is expected to go live on the servers on 25th May, according to the official patch schedule.
