League of Legends Season 12 was off to a phenomenal start and the pro leagues across the globe have had some stellar outplays and upsets so far. From unique champion picks to playing off-meta starts on the rift, the 2022 Spring Split has been building up to the much-anticipated knockout stage. Most of the regions have had their regular spring split play out and are already waiting for the 2022 Spring Split playoffs to begin. While the top teams in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) and the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) have already locked in their spots for the playoffs, some teams are still fighting for the few spots left in the playoff brackets of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) and League of Legends Championship Series (LCS).

The champions of each competitive region, during the Spring Split, compete for the Mid Season Invitational, which is held between the first and second splits of all regions

Here is all you need to know about which teams made it to the playoffs, the schedules, and where to watch them.

League of Legends European Championship (LEC)

The LEC Playoff matches are all set to kick off on 25th March and will go on till early April. The teams that made the first round of the LEC 2022 Spring Split playoffs are:

  • Rogue

  • Misfits

  • Fnatic

  • G2 Esports

  • Excel

  • Team Vitality

At the end of the regular season, Rogue placed on top of the league with a scoreline of 14-4, followed by Fnatic which came in a close second with a record of 13-5. For the playoffs, the six teams are split into two brackets: the upper and the lower. The top four teams in the region get placed in the upper bracket and play a more relaxed knockout stage. The first-place team gets to choose whether it wants to play the third or the fourth-seeded team. Automatically, the fifth and sixth place teams will be in the lower bracket. Each game will be a best-of-5 series.

As per the standings of the league, the upper side of the playoffs bracket consists of Rogue, Misfits, Fnatic, and G2 Esports. In the lower bracket are Excel and Vitality, two teams that fought all their odds to make the last stretch. Additionally, this is Excel’s debut in the LEC playoffs.

League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK)

The 2022 LCK Spring Split concluded on 20th March with T1 rewriting the league’s history with an iconic 18-0 finish. Following this, the bracket for the Spring Playoffs was set. The LCK playoffs are slated to begin on 23rd March.

The six LCK teams to qualify for the playoffs are:

  • T1

  • Gen.G

  • Damwon Kia

  • DRX

  • Kwangdong Freecs

  • Fredit BRION

In the LCK, the top two teams – T1 and Gen.G – get a bye in the first round and will join play during the second round directly. So the 2022 LCK Spring Playoffs will begin with the other four teams locking horns. The third seed will face the sixth seed and the fourth seed will take on the fifth seed.

Following the outcome of the first round, T1 will decide its opponent since it placed first in the regular season. Gen.G will play against the other remaining team, and the winner of those matches will go head-to-head in the finals.
