Worlds 2022 is right around the corner with the opening stage of the tournament – the Play-in – kicking off on 29th September in Mexico City, Mexico. League of Legends Worlds not only brings together the best teams in the world but also allows fans to make their bold predictions. One of the much-awaited aspects of this World Championship is that fans get to make their predictions and reap the rewards through the Worlds 2022 Pick'Em. Riot Games said, “Pick'Em is a game of predictions and upsets: make your picks for which teams will win and lose, earn points, and fight your way to the top of the Global Leaderboard!

Worlds 2022 Pick'Em explainer

Worlds 2022 Pick'Em is an exciting way for fans to predict the outcome of matches during the tournament, compete for points and earn prizes. Additionally, the Crystal Ball and the Coin features are also back this year. Please head on to LoL Esports to read more about the rules and eligibility criteria for the Pick'Em.

The Crystal Ball

The Crystal Ball feature will require players to answer 20 questions before the Worlds Play-Ins start. The questions could be about champions, Worlds, teams, players, and anything under the sun for League of Legends. Players will be allowed to change answers before the Play-In starts on 29th September and every question is worth 50 points.

The scores of the Crystal Ball will be revealed after the Worlds 2022 finale. “Crystal Ball offers an entirely new way to earn rewards as its points and rewards are separate from traditional Pick'Em,” said Riot.

Traditional Pick'Em

For the first time in Pick'Em history, players will be able to predict the Play-ins stage starting with the Knockout stage where teams play best-of-five (BO5) series. Players will need to stay alert and lock in predictions for the two BO5s on 3rd October after the matches end on 2nd October. Likewise, after the matches on 3rd October, they will be able to lock in for 4th October.

Group Stage

For the Group Stage, it’s up to the players to correctly predict the order that teams will finish in each group. Group Stage will be open for picks after Play-Ins conclude on 4th October until the start of Group Stage matches at 2:15 PM PT on 7th October.

Knockout Stage

Once the Group Stage has finished, players will be able to pick the winners for matches at each step of the way throughout the Knockout Stage -- and ultimately settle on who they think will take home the Worlds 2022 title.

  • Quarterfinals will be open for picks after the Group Stage concludes on 16th October until the start of the Quarterfinals at 2:15 PM PT on 20th October.

  • Semifinals will be open for picks after the Quarterfinals conclude on 23rd October until the start of the Semifinals at 2:15 PM PT on 29th October.

  • Finals will be open for picks after the Semifinals conclude on 30th October until the start of the Finals at 5:15 PM PT on 5th November.

Coin picks

The Coin feature returns for Worlds 2022 with a few changes. If you forget to lock in your picks during any stage, the Coin will make random selections. “Any points earned by the Coin in this manner will take a small deduction. Note: The Coin will not make selections for any missed Crystal Ball picks.
