LCS 2023 Spring Split: Teams, Schedules, Standings

Heading into 2023, the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) that focuses on the North American (NA) region is gearing up for major changes. The Americas head of esports for League of Legends, Raul Fernandez, detailed all the changes and the schedule for the LCS 2023 Spring Split in a blog post. The biggest change that players, teams, broadcast members, and fans need to get used to is the shift of broadcast days to Thursdays and Fridays and on super weeks, matches will be played on Wednesdays. Additionally, ahead of the LCS 2023 Spring Split, the LCS Arena has been renamed the Riot Games Arena as Riot Games included the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Americas circuit. 

Raul Fernandez said, "The [LCS] broadcast will continue to build on the positive feedback we received to changes over the summer and expand further. Expect even more eclectic content and conversations from our charismatic talent as we create a broadcast experience placed squarely at the intersection of competition and culture."

The LCS 2023 Spring Season is the first split of the eleventh year of NA's professional league and ten teams will compete in a round-robin group stage. Here’s all you need to know about the LCS 2023 Spring Split.

A guide to LCS 2023 Spring Split

While the broadcast days for the LCS have changed, the competitive format of the league will largely remain the same. In 2023, both Spring Split and Summer Splits will be double round robins over eight weeks of regular season play, with two super weeks (three days of play) each split. Split Playoff formats also remain unchanged from 2022 — the winners of Spring Playoffs will represent LCS at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), and the top three finishers in the LCS Championship shall go to Worlds.

• Ten teams will participate

• Double Round Robin setup

• Matches are best-of-one (BO1)

• The top six teams qualify for playoffs

  • The top four teams start in the upper bracket of playoffs

  • The fifth and sixth teams will start in the lower bracket
