Teams are stepping into high gear as the regular play of the Summer Split is over and the competition is heating up pretty quickly. Eight teams are left to fight for the number one spot in the North America League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2023 Championship, the crowning event for the split and the one that decides the Worlds representatives.
The LCS 2023 Championship is a double-elimination bracket with exciting best-of-five (BO5) series. The event will see the crowning of the best North American team after a showdown on 20th August.
League of Legends Esports (LoL Esports) and Riot Games introduced this split and the Championship, "Touch sand, soak up the summer rays and enjoy some fresh vibes as the LCS travels from coast to coast!"

A guide to LCS 2023 Championship
The LCS 2023 Championship is the third installment of the LCS Championship. An LCS champion will be crowned and the four Worlds 2023 representatives from North America (NA) shall also be decided. The top three teams make it to the Worlds 2023 main event and the fourth seed makes it to the Worlds Qualifying series.
Notably, the LCS Championship final weekend will take place on August 19-20 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Format
Top 8 teams from the Summer Season participate
Top two teams start in round 2 of the upper bracket
#1 seed selects to play against either potential winner of 3 vs 6 or 4 vs 5 before Championship starts
3rd to 6th start in round 1 of the upper bracket
7th and 8th start in round 1 of the lower bracket
Double elimination bracket
Matches are best-of-five
Top 3 teams qualify for Worlds 2023 main event
Fourth-placed team qualifies for Worlds 2023 Qualifiers
All the matches are currently scheduled to be played on League of Legends Patch 13.14.
New champion and mid-lane assassin Naafiri will remain disabled in the LCS Championship.
