The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 community is in unison while voicing its disappointment as Infinity Ward removed Shipment 24/7 from the game in the recent playlist update. The latest Modern Warfare 2 update on 11th January removed the Shipment 24x7 playlist and brought back Shoot House 24x7, causing the players to share their frustration online. The developers have been adding new maps and modes to the active playlist. Notably, the Shoothouse map was added in Season 1, and Shipment was added in Season 1 Reloaded.
Shipment is one of the most iconic maps in the Call of Duty franchise and it was reimagined for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. Shipment was originally released in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007. Although the map is small in size, it enables players to go on killing sprees in multiplayer modes, making players constantly run and shoot and engage in combat.
Players left disappointed after Shipment playlist gets scrapped in MW2
The Shipment map received a new look in Modern Warfare 2 and the developers removed the ability to climb on the crates. A new playlist, called the Shipment 24/7 playlist, was added to the game to celebrate the return of the iconic map. Players really loved this addition and it was an instant hit. Additionally, the map also received a holiday makeover via Shipmas or the Holiday Shipment map.
On Reddit, one user named pubgisDEAD wrote, “Shipment is gone, this is how they listen to the community.” The post, at the time of writing this article, has 4.7K upvotes and 1.5K comments, with most of the users reflecting the same sentiment about Shipment 24x7.
Shipment 24/7 was the main mode that players predominantly chose to grind camos in Modern Warfare 2. Another user commented, “Man... Shipment 24/7 is where I spent my time after work when I didn't have any of my friends on for Warzone and didn't have a lot of time for DMZ antics. This is a bummer…”
Notably, the developers stated that players could expect this map to be in featured playlists throughout the rest of Season 1 in Modern Warfare 2. “Whether you are ready to grind out the rest of those Orion Camo challenges or just embrace chaos, prepare for Shipment’s arrival with the Season 01 Reloaded update,” stated the patch update blog post on 9th December.
Now, players are demanding the return of 'Shoot the Ship', which allowed them to play Shoot House and Shipment on a loop back in Modern Warfare 2019.
However, it is not all bad news if you are a Shipment fan. Players should note that the Shipment map is very much still in Modern Warfare 2. It is available to players via Quick Play mode. Infinity Ward has not yet announced when the Shipment 24x7 playlist will be added back to the game.
