There have been various hints over the years hinting at a potential adaptation of Apex Legends as a TV show.
Currently, there are no plans of a TV show being made on the Apex Frontier and its legends.
Respawn has worked on a documentary in the past which has earned the studio an Oscar.

Apex Legends’ popularity has soared since the start of 2021 following its arrival on Steam in December 2020. There are rumors of a TV show being in the works but there is conflicting information all over the internet. There have been a few official statements about a potential Apex Legends TV show from Respawn but nothing seems to be set in stone just yet. Here is everything we know so far about the potential TV adaptation of Apex Legends.

Is an Apex Legends TV show coming?

For now, no Apex Legends TV show is confirmed to be in development. However, Game director Chad Grenier said in an interview with GamesRadar in 20202 that the Apex Legends team would love to create a TV show. He said, “A Netflix animated series of Apex? Sign me up! I think right now we're focused on making the game but heck, if someone wants to pitch me something I'll listen."

It was nothing more than a hypothetical statement and no plans had been set in stone at the time. Months later, there was a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) Session with various Respawn employees and fans asked if a TV show was in the works. It is then that Apex Legends’ Director of Communications Ryan Rigney dropped a hint about an upcoming show with a zipped face emoji. It was not much to go on but many thought of it as a hint of an upcoming TV show being in the works and Rigney not being allowed to talk about it.

The biggest hint we have received so far is Respawn’s Studio Operations Director Tim Lewinson reacting to a fan-made Arcane intro featuring Apex Legends characters saying, “I have some conversations to follow up come January.” But we have not received any information about a TV show yet.

Colette, a documentary produced by Respawn Entertainment and Oculus Studios has won an Oscar for Best Documentary Short at the 93rd Academy Awards marking the first time a video game company has been nominated and awarded an Oscar. The studio definitely has the capability to produce its own show and fans would love to see the colorful world of Apex be brought to life on their TV screens.

We already have comics in-game as well as a standalone physical comic series being in the works under Dark Horse. Respawn has also worked on its lore video series ‘Stories of The Outlands.’ The video series showcases the backstories of some of the most popular characters in the game so far and we can expect the studio to continue producing them every season.

A series similar to Arcane would be welcomed by the community but until there is official confirmation from Respawn, fans can only hope to see the Outlands and its diverse characters on TV.
