Call of Duty Warzone incorporated the Serpentine Perk from Vanguard and players have mixed feelings about it.
It is a Perk One option that enables players to take reduced damage while sprinting.

Call of Duty Warzone’s Season 4 update has been live since 22nd June and has brought forth tons of new content for the players to enjoy. The Serpentine Perk in Warzone is essentially from Vanguard and has shaken up the perk meta quite a bit since its release in Warzone. Apart from the right weapons, the choice of perks in Call of Duty Warzone is one of the most important factors in a player’s loadout.

Perks in Call of Duty Warzone are tied to custom classes and become active once players acquires their loadout in a match. There are three perk slots, meaning three perks can be carried at any given time. All three of the perks associated with that particular loadout will remain active for the duration of the time the player is alive in the game.

What is the Serpentine Perk in Call of Duty Warzone?

The Serpentine Perk essentially focuses on damage reduction while sprinting and comes over from Vanguard. This perk reduces incoming damage from bullets, explosives, and fire by 20% while sprinting and is a Perk One option that has helped players make aggressive plays without getting heavily punished.

On 7th June, Blizzard Entertainment wrote, “Scenario: you are in a dead sprint across the map when suddenly, a sniper from 300 yards out starts taking pot shots. Somehow, one connects to your head, and you’re out of the game. Serpentine, the new Perk arriving from Vanguard, hopes to remedy this without completely leaving marksmen out to dry.

A lot of Call of Duty Warzone players have expressed their concerns about the Serpentine Perk, since its release, and most of them are calling it overpowered. Not only does the perk make the time to kill (TTK) inconsistent and long, but it also helps the player sprinting away feel invincible.

On the Call of Duty Warzone subreddit, user villabrus posted a short clip of them shooting at a player with the Serpentine Perk and wrote, “My poor-aim-ass is really starting to dislike the Serpentine Perk.

Another user commented, “As someone like me who uses Serpentine, it needs to be nerfed. Has it saved my ass from BS campers? Yes. Has it allowed my targets to escape? Yes. Is it a little OP? Yes.

  • According to Warzone Ranked, with 1,004,575 loadouts analyzed on 18th July, the following are the statistics for the Serpentine Perk at the time of writing:

  • Type: Perk 1

  • Pick Rate: 30.41%

  • K/D: 1.23

  • Win Rate: 3.17%
