Delhi is set to host a showdown between two popular Indian Valorant teams, Global Esports (GE) and Velocity Gaming (VLT), which is often called The Val'Clasico by the fans. According to Global Esports(GE) founder Rushindra Sinha, “the old GE squid (God Squad) will take against Velocity gaming on 8th June in Delhi”.

During his livestream, he revealed that GE's players, Rossi and Gollu, had canceled their flights to Korea to make this event possible. The clash between GE and VLT will occur at the Nodwin Gaming arena.Global Esports Team manager Mohit Israney provided a sneak peek into the upcoming battle during the live stream.

Global Esports Vs Velocity Gaming The Val'Clasico

The squad of Global Esports comprised, Bhavin “HellrangeR” Kotwani, Jayanth “skillZ” Ramesh, Akshay “KappA” Sinkar, Ganesh ”SkRossi” Gangadhar, and Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury.  This squad multiple local tournaments including the VALORANT Conquerors Championship, Skyesports Souvenir 2022, Skyesports Champions Series, and other tournaments.

On the other side, Velocity Gaming boasts a talented lineup comprising Anuj "Amaterasu" Sharma, Debanjan "DEATHMAKER" Das, Karan "Excali" Mhaswadkar, and Sagnik "Hellff" Roy. Notable players who have represented VLT in the past include Vibhor "Vibhor" Vaid, Sabyasachi "Antidote" Bose, Agneya "Marzil" Koushik, and Tejas "rite2ace" Sawant. VLT has also secured numerous tournament victories, including VCC 2022: Stage 1, Skyesports Pro Invitational - S2, and Skyesports Championship 3.0.

The rivalry between Global Esports and Velocity Gaming was fierce due to their frequent encounters in finals and playoffs. However, the last time these two teams faced each other, GE walked away with the victory.

Unfortunately, following this GE had been competing in VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Pacific League, while Velocity Gaming was competing in the VALORANT Challengers 2023: South Asia Split 2. Hence fans missed the intense matches between these two teams.

Following a disappointing performance in VALORANT Challengers 2023: South Asia Split 2, VLT had been disbanded and with that, the hopes of seeing the Val'Clasico were shattered. But a spark of excitement was seen within the fans as Excali and Manoj “Sentinel” Kasyup shared the following tweets.

While there were queries regarding why the event was not taking place in Mumbai, Rushindra Sinha clarified that Nodwin Gaming already had a well-equipped LAN setup in Delhi, making it more feasible to host the event there. He emphasized that it was relatively easier for the players to travel to Delhi. Rushindra Sinha is looking forward to meeting the fans as he confirmed that he will be present to attend the event along with other prominent names. More details regarding the event will soon be shared.
