Soniqs, Faze Breeze Through Gamers8 PGS 2 Winners Bracket. TYLOO and NAVI Fall to Losers' for One Last Chance
The Winners Bracket of the Gamers8 PUBG Global Series 2023 has concluded with some unexpected results. Fan favorite team Soniqs has clinched the number 1 spot while Faze and Theerathon Five make up the rest of the top 3 going into the Grand Finals. But in a surprising twist, teams like TYLOO, The Expendables, and NAVI who looked promising during the Group Stages haven’t made it into the top 8 at all and will instead be fighting for a second chance down in the Losers’ Bracket on 15th August.
Gamers8 PUBG Global Series 2023 Phase 2: Winners Bracket Day 1 Recap
Winners Bracket Match 7 Recap (Miramar)
Just as they did on Day 1, Faze started strong on the second day winning the first match of the day in dominating fashion with a 22-point Chicken Dinner. CERBERUS Esports and Question Mark also made it to the top 3 with both teams scoring 11 points.
Winners Bracket Match 8 Recap (Miramar)
Match 7 saw Faze stay composed and use the momentum from Match 6 into winning a decisive second map with a 21-point chicken dinner, firmly putting themselves at the top of the leaderboard. Question Mark once again made it to the top 3 with 10 points while Daytrade came third with 7 points.
Winners Bracket Match 9 Recap (Taego)
Soniqs come through in Match 9 with a 19-point Chicken Dinner. Question Mark made it to the top 3 for the third match in a row with a magnificent 18-point second-place finish. Danawa e-sports also had a banger map and got 17 points in third place.
Winners Bracket Match 10 Recap (Erangel)
Refusing to be outdone by Faze, Soniqs also pulled out their own consecutive win in Match 10 with a second Chicken Dinner scoring 18 points. CERBERUS Esports and Team Falcon made the top 3 as well with 10 and 13 points respectively.
Winners Bracket Match 11 Recap (Erangel)
The penultimate match saw Theerathon Five take their first and only win of the day with a 21-point Chicken Dinner. Soniqs once again made it to the top 3 with 12 points in third place, firmly securing the top spot in the table. TYLOO also show up in the top 3 for the first and only time on Day 2, and it was not enough to get them out of the bottom 8.
Winners Bracket Match 12 Recap (Erangel)
The last match of the day saw a new winner in the form of Petrichor Road who had an 18-point win, despite which they still ended the day in the bottom 8 owing to some luck going the way of Gen.G. Question Mark once again placed second and firmly secures top 8 and a spot in the Grand Finals. Gen.G who had gotten 8 points total from the 5 previous matches of Day 2, barely managed to scrape into third place with a 10-point finish and out qualified TYLOO by one single point, knocking them out and securing the very last spot into the Grand Finals.
With this surprising chain of events, the Losers' Bracket which will be played through the 15th and 16th of August will see teams like TYLOO, NAVI, and The Expendables possibly terrorize the Lower Bracket matches as they fight for revenge and a slot back into the Grand Finals.
