The LEC and SL teams of both organizations will play showmatches respectively on 16th December.

The League of Legends Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Championship (LEC) teams Fnatic and KOI will have a showmatch featuring their LEC and SuperLiga (SL) teams, announced the organizations. Fans will finally get to see the new rosters of both Fnatic and KOI via this showmatch on 16th December. Notably, the LEC has two new teams starting in 2023 and officially welcomed Team Heretics and KOI. While Team Heretics replaced Misfits Gaming after buying out its slot earlier this year, KOI will be Rogue’s rebrand after the two organizations announced their strategic alliance in October. Both Team Heretics and KOI were a part of the Liga de Videojuegos Profesional SuperLiga (LVP SL) before joining the LEC.

During the offseason, organizations are slowly revealing their new rosters for the 2023 season and both Fnatic and KOI are yet to announce their lineups. With the LEC teams going head-to-head in the showmatch, fans will finally get to witness the lineup of the new Fnatic and KOI.

When is the Fnatic vs KOI Showmatch?

Internet celebrity and co-owner of KOI Ibai Llanos wrote on Twitter that they will be celebrating the first anniversary of KOI on 16th December and that it will happen in Madrid, Spain. He stated that KOI will make announcements and asked the fans to look out for surprises. Ibai added that KOI’s new LEC and SL teams will go up against Fnatic's new LEC and SL teams. “KOI 2023 STARTS ON THE 16TH,” he teased.

Likewise, Fnatic tweeted, “The announcement you've all been waiting for...Catch our new LEC and FNC TQ rosters at GAMERGY in Madrid on December 16th!

GAMERGY is one of the most spectacular gamer meetings in Spain and is an event that caters to gamers and fans of esports. Fans can watch the Fnatic vs KOI Showmatch on 16th December as the match will be a part of GAMERGY.

A release on the GAMERGY website read, “The event, in which the rosters and kit for the new season will be presented, will take place on December 16, starting at 7:00 p.m., in Hall 6 of IFEMA [Institución Ferial de Madrid] MADRID. In addition, there will also be a showmatch between the members of the LEC team and the British from Fnatic. For Fnatic, it is a sort of homecoming with Rekkles reportedly making a comeback as a LEC attack damage carry (ADC). On the other hand, KOI, formerly Rogue, will look to solidify its place atop the standings and once again prove that winning the 2022 LEC Summer Split was not a one-time occurrence.

Fans can watch the Fnatic vs KOI showmatch on Ibai Llanos’ Twitch channel on 16th December at 7.00 pm CET.
