Faker Praises NA Solo Queue & LCS Amid His Jungle Shenanigans

It is just a matter of days before the Worlds 2022 trophy is lifted by a Korean team. On 4th November, T1 and DRX will face each other in an electrifying best-of-five (BO5) series at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. The League of Legends community has been paying close attention to everything that the pro players are doing – both on the international stage and in Solo Queue. Recently, T1’s star player Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok was caught making an awful mistake in the North American (NA) ranked ladder. Interestingly, just days before this misplay was amplified on social media, the pro player joked about the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) being the “best region.”
Faker calls LCS the best region during Worlds 2022 interview
After the semi-final match against JD Gaming (JDG), T1 players Faker and Ryu "Keria" Min-seok were interviewed by Daniel "Drakos" Drakos on the stage. Drakos asked the duo which region was the best in the world. To this, Keria replied, “I believe the LCK is the best region right now and T1 is the best team.” As Keria was replying, Faker was eager to say something with a big grin on his face and later he pulled away from the mic and muttered “LCS” to Keria.
Following this, Korizon Esports’ Ashley Kang asked Faker if he really wanted to say “LCS” and he said that the region is the strongest and that they can become the best in the future.
Faker has a massive goof-up in the jungle
Recently, Faker was caught playing NA Solo Queue in the jungle role, possibly after getting auto-filled. The pro player made a big mistake while playing Bel’veth jungle. He died to a blue buff at level one which was caught on stream by League of Legends streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp
Faker was leashed by his top-laner Fiora and after bringing down the HP of the blue buff, Faker started moving toward the Gromp to start the other camp simultaneously. Unfortunately, the pro player miscalculated and lost aggro on the blue buff, which eventually reset, gaining full HP. Following this, Faker tried to kill the Gromp but ended up tagging the Blue Sentinel, which dealt him a deadly blow, executing him in the jungle camp at level one.
Tyler1, who was watching the replay or as he would call “VOD reviewing it”, defended his “GOAT” by stating that Faker was probably lagging. However, to be a three-time Worlds champion eyeing the fourth one, dying to a jungle camp at level one is more than embarrassing. Ironically, this goof-up played out in North American Solo Queue.
Following this, Faker cemented his comments on the North American region during the recent Worlds 2022 press conference before the Finals. According to Ashley Kang, he said, “I've been playing NA solo queue. They have been much more difficult than worlds. So I believe NA has a good chance next year.”
Fans will witness the clash between the titans: T1 and DRX on 5th November in the grand finals of Worlds 2022 and before that Riot Games will host the opening ceremony of the event, featuring Lil Nas X and GOT7’s Jackson Wang.
