Epic Games Is Bringing Naruto to Fortnite

Epic Games teased a collaboration with Naruto: Shippuden and it looks like fans will be getting access to the crossover event on 16^th November. While there are no skins or items revealed yet, it is likely that Naruto’s ninja costume will be added to the game as part of the upcoming event. Fans can expect unlockable items themed around the Naruto franchise once the event goes live next week.

What is the Naruto Crossover Event in Fortnite?

Naruto is a popular anime series that became popular globally and aired from 2007 to 2017. The anime’s protagonist Naruto Uzumaki, is a young ninja with the dream of becoming the leader of his village. The series is divided into two parts with the original Naruto anime showcasing his early years while Naruto: Shippuden focuses on the protagonist’s teenage years.

Fortnite will be bringing cosmetics from Naruto: Shippuden to the game and if previous events are anything to go by, players are likely to get a limited-time Naruto skin from the in-game shop. Fortnite typically releases the crossover skins along with other unlockable items like sprays, a back bling, music tracks and loading screens.

Epic Games acquired rights for Naruto content back in August 2021

Rumors of the Fortnite X Naruto event first surfaced in June 2021 with leakers talking about a deal between Epic Games and Japanese entertainment company Shueisha which is responsible for titles like Gintama, One Piece and Naruto: Shippuden.

The rumors eventually died down but in August 2021, it was leaked that Epic Games acquired the limited rights for Naruto cosmetics and fans have been waiting ever since. With Epic making the collaboration official, Naruto fans who play Fortnite will be looking to participate in the crossover event next week.

The collaboration with Naruto is just one of many by Epic Games this year, as the Forntite publisher has partnered with Warner Bros. for adding cosmetics from the movie ‘Dune’. It also added League of Legends’ Jinx to the game as part of a collaboration with Riot Games.

When is the Naruto X Fortnite crossover happening?

The Naruto: Shippuden collaboration is taking place starting 16^th November. The cosmetics will be available for a limited time for players to unlock or purchase.
