DWG KIA announced today (16th Nov) that the organisation has parted ways with its top laners Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon and Noh “Burdol” Tae-yoon. Both Nuguri and Burdol are now free agents. DWG KIA roster lets go of both top laners and multiple coaches

DWG KIA took to Twitter to announce the changes in its roster. The organization thanked the players and the coaching staff for their contribution to the team’s successes in the past year.

Nuguri joined the team in April 2022, having previously played for DWG’s older iteration DAMWON and won Worlds 2020. He ended up shifting to League of Legends Pro League (LPL) team FunPlus Phoenix in December 2020, helping them win the LPL Summer 2021 title. DWG KIA is yet to announce who will now play top lane since the team has let go of both its main and substitute top laners.

Burdol has played for multiple academy and main rosters including for SK Telecom T1, their later iteration T1 and Gen.G. The organisation wished both the departing top laners the best for their future and thanked them for their time in DWG KIA.

DWG KIA also wished AD Kim (kkOma) the best of luck for the future in the post and announced his departure.

kkOma was most well known for his time at T1, leading the team to win three Worlds titles. After joining DWG KIA, kkOma led the team to multiple LCK titles and a second place finish in Worlds 2021 as a coach. He later took on the position of Athletic Director with the orgnisation.

The team also let go of its head coach Daeny and Zefa, announcing that the contract "has been mutually terminated" with both of them. Just a few days prior, the organisation also announced it was letting go of coach Lee "Edge" Ho-Sung. These changes come as the team prepares for the 2023 competitive season of League of Legends.
