Sledgehammer Games gave fans a preview of Call of Duty: Vanguard's story mode at Gamescom 2021.
Dr Disrespect noticed that the game's preview also included footage from Warzone.
It looks like Verdansk might be getting a redesign to fit Vanguard's World War Two aesthetics.

Sledgehammer Games had plenty to share with fans at Gamescom 2021, with the developers showcasing gameplay from Call of Duty: Vanguard. We got a first official look at the campaign with the new ‘Stalingrad Demo’. Fans got a look at Sledgehammer’s take on the Battle of Stalingrad through the eyes of one of Call of Duty: Vanguard’s protagonists, Polina Petrova. The trailer gives fans at an in-game depiction of the devastation caused during World War Two. Players will get to play as four different protagonists who fight their way through enemy lines in Call of Duty: Vanguard’s campaign.

A recap of Sledgehammer Games’ Gamescom 2021 presentation

Sledgehammer Games showcased gameplay from Call of Duty: Vanguard and also showed off glimpses of Warzone, with the Verdansk map seemingly being redesigned with a World War Two aesthetic. In the trailer, we see Polina Petrova, one of the game’s protagonists in the campaigns, survive an aerial attack. She pushes herself to the surface and attempts to save her brother Misha.

Throughout the short playthrough, we notice that there is some focus on stealth as Petrova managed to stealthily take out enemy soldiers and maneuvers across rooftops. Her cover gets blown at one point and engages in all out-combat.

In addition to Stalingrad, there will also be focus on North Africa, France and the United States’ Midway Islands. Four campaigns will be available as part of Vanguard’s single-player content. Not much has been revealed about the multiplayer aspects of the upcoming title and fans can expect to get more news about all of the PVP content over the coming weeks.

Dr Disrespect’s opinions on Call of Duty: Vanguard

During last night’s Gamescom presentations, content creator Dr Disrespect was broadcasting his thoughts on all of the new games. During Sledgehammer Games’ presentation at Gamescome, Dr Disrespect spotted what seems to look like a World War Two version of Warzone’s Verdansk map.

Doc commented on the graphics of the game stating “the details in the vista look pretty good.” He liked the presentation by Sledgehammer Games and said that the studio is “knocking it out of the park.” The game is scheduled for release on 5 November and it remains to be seen if Dr Disrespect enjoy the new Call of Duty as he seems to be disgruntled by Warzone currently.
