Popular content creator Herschel ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm IV has shown interest in making his own video game on numerous occasions and his ideas may finally be coming to live. He helped create a map for Rogue Company and also said that he wanted to create a Valorant map, but he never made his own game. Things seem to have changed with Doc setting up his own game studio according to his official website. The Champions Club website run by Dr Disrespect, has a listing in the careers page for a gaming studio head and Doc’s dreams of making a vertical battle royale may finally be coming to life.

Dr Disrespect wants to create a “vertical” battle royale

Dr Disrespect talked about a unique idea for a battle royale on several occasions. In 2018, he said that he wants to create a vertical BR where a fire sets off at the bottom of a building and players work their way up the floors to escape. He showed off concept art of the upcoming game on his livestream from 9 August, 2021 and it looks like his idea for a vertical BR is coming to life.

The job listing on the Champions Club website reveals that Dr Disrespect in partnership with esports entertainment platform Boom TV wants to market the game on Steam, Epic Games Store and console. Boom TV is an esports platform based in the US with its own live streaming service for esports event production. The gaming studio head will be given a co-founder role and will be responsible for attracting talent, fundraising and bringing Doc’s battle royale concept to life. The role description mentions “integrated esports”, which means that Dr Disrespect might be considering launching a competitive title.

Dr Disrespect's game studio intends to publish multiple titles

Doc does not want to stop at just one gaming title. The job listing on his website reads “The studio plans to forge a partnership with a select list of mega influencers and then work closely with them to launch their dream gaming title. Those gaming titles will either be incubated and developed OR partner/co develop with existing indie game developers and launched as mega titles.”

Dr Disrespect is not new to the gaming industry, he has worked with Call of Duty developer Sledgehammer Games as a community manager and as a level designer in the past before delving into content creation. If his dream battle royale comes to life, he will be going up against the likes of Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, which are two of the biggest FPS titles right now.
