Dongsu joins Boston Uprising as head coach for the next Overwatch League Season.
The star-studded roster consists of Striker, smurf, IZaYaKI, Decay, Birdring and LeeJaeGon.

Boston Uprising just announced its roster for the new season of Overwatch League (OWL) and it is stacked. The roster will be coached by Dong-soo "Dongsu" Shin, former coach of Shanghai Dragons. Boston Uprising took to Twitter to announce its new roster.

Dongsu’s Overwatch roster consists of former Shanghai Dragon alumni

Dongsu has previously worked as a coach for the Shanghai Dragons as the team rose to the top of the leaderboards and dominated the 2021 season of Overwatch League. The team also signed on support players Kim "IZaYaKI" Min-chul and Lee "LeeJaeGon" Jae-gon from the Dragons. IZaYaKI has two back to back Role Star awards under his belt for OWL 2021 and 2022 while LeeJaeGon bagged the Role Star award for 2020 and 2021.

Boston Uprising has brought back star DPS player Kwon “Striker” Nam-joo. Striker had previously played for Boston in the inaugural season of Overwatch League, leading the team to go undefeated for the entirety of Stage 3 of Season 1. Over the years, Striker has alternated playing for Boston and San Francisco. With San Francisco, Striker led the Shock to victory in back to back seasons of OWL in 2019 and 2020. Shock also made it to the Grand Finals of 2021 where it was unfortunately beaten by Dallas Fuel 4-3.

Rounding out the roster is former Seoul Dynasty player Yoo "smurf" Myeong-hwan who bagged the Role Star award for OWL 2022 and Jang "Decay" Gui-un on DPS. Decay has previously played for the Washington Justice, Dallas Fuel, and Los Angeles Gladiators. They will be joined by DPS player Ji-hyeok "birdring" Kim. Birdring retired from competitive Overwatch in 2021 before coming back as a content creator for the Los Angeles Gladiators.

Boston Uprising has struggled a bit in the past few seasons to make a dent in the Overwatch League. With Striker back home and a star studded roster of players, perhaps Head Coach Dongsu will be able to lead the team to victory. Boston announced the signing of Dognsu saying the team needs a “leader who knows how to win it all”, someone who “stands out as one of the sharpest strategic minds in the game, and has a league championship to show for it.”
