Apex Legends' newest legend, Vantage, joined the Apex Games at the start of Season 14: Hunted and is a recon legend who comes in with a ton of utility. She has unique long-range abilities and acts as a sniper on the team. Her lethal sniper rifle and her passive to spot opponents combined with her ability to quickly relocate to better angles make the gameplay very interesting and allow for cool plays. Additionally, players have now found a Vantage movement trick that allows her to dash to her pointer like Jett from Valorant. Notably, Vantage’s dash is due to a bizarre bug in the game and players have been combing the dash with cool movements like double-jump in Apex Legends.
Before getting to know this trick, let us quickly understand all of Vantage’s abilities in Apex Legends.
Vantage’s abilities
Passive: Spotter’s Lens
Aim down sight (ADC) to scout with your eyepiece (unarmed or with mid-to long-range scopes) and use a bullet drop indicator to see where your shots will land.
Tactical: Echo Relocation
Position your winged companion Echo and then launch towards him. You must have a line of sight to Echo to launch. Notably, your pet bat can be repositioned while on cooldown and recalled at any time.
Ultimate: Sniper’s Mark
Use your custom sniper rifle to mark enemy targets and apply a damage bonus for you and your team.
Dash trick on Vantage
Twitter user and Apex Legends player Skeptation posted a clip of them playing Vantage and dashing around in different directions. The idea is to cancel the animation of her Tactical ability and dash to the location. Another Apex streamer on Twitter named theh1d pointed out that players can not only cancel animation while using Vantage’s Q by popping shield cells or batteries but players can also dash if they instantly deploy Echo.
Simply put, the Vantage dash trick works like this:
Step 1: You start to pop a shield battery.
Step 2: Decide which direction you want to go and hold A or D accordingly
Step 3: Hold the ability button that uses “echo relocation” and do not let go.
If you replicate these three steps, you should be able to dash instantly. The idea is to use shields, hold the movement button and the tactical button to dash in the direction you desire.
Using this dash alone may not be fruitful during fights but players can pull off crazy movements and double jumps to confuse opponents. Since this is not an intended form of movement in the game, Respawn Entertainment will quickly patch it in the near future. But if you’ve been wanting to dash like Valorant's Jett in Apex Legends, you could try your hand at this unofficial movement mechanic with Vantage.
