CLG Promotes Dhokla to Its LCS Roster as Top Laner, Replaces Jenkins
LCS 2022 Summer kicks off on 18th June
Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) is one of the biggest and oldest organizations in the history of North American (NA) League of Legends Esports which was founded in 2010. It has been in the scene ever since and has been a strong team in the past.
In the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2022 Spring Split, the team had a disappointing outcome where it finished eighth in the standings and failed to make it to the Playoffs. After this, it seems like the team decided to shuffle things around in order to change the outcomes of the upcoming Summer Split. Ten days before the LCS 2022 Summer Split, CLG made some significant roster changes.
In the top lane, it is promoting its academy top laner Niship “Dhokla” Doshi to the main roster for the LCS 2022 Summer split. Meanwhile, CLG’s current top-laner Thomas “Jenkins” Tran has been moved to the CLG Academy roster.
On Twitter, CLG announced, “CLG Academy Top Laner @dhoklalol will be promoted from Academy to our #LCS roster for the Summer Split.” CLG’s General Manager Jonathon McDaniel said, “We’re thrilled to be able to reward Dhokla for his performance and hard work throughout the Spring Season by naming him as the starter for CLG LCS as we head into the Summer Season.”
Dhokla shines in LCS Academy and Champions Queue
Dhokla was named the NA Academy 2022 Spring [Most Valuable Player] MVP. According to the Upcomer, he was also voted as the most likely player to make an impact on the main roster.
Additionally, he was also one of the major reasons why CLG Academy was able to clinch a first-place finish in the 2022 NA Academy Spring Split.
In the Champions Queue (CQ), an invite-only super server that provides top NA talent and teams with the tools to play quality games on very low ping with proper voice comms, Dhokla showed tremendous resolve and dedication in the second split. He was the winner of the Champions Queue Split 2.
Talking about Champions Queue, Dhokla stated that this was the most fun he has had playing League of Legends in a long time because of the low ping server and the voice comms with his teammates.
With these roster changes, CLG will look to become a top contender in the LCS once again. The LCS 2022 Summer Split kicks off on 18th June and CLG will be taking on Dignitas in its first match of the split.
