Call of Duty developers have taken the decision to push back the Season 2 update for Vanguard and Warzone Pacific. There have been too many game-breaking bugs and weapon balancing issues that have plagued the game during Season 1, which is forcing the developers to push the next major seasonal content update to 14th February 2022.

Warzone Pacific and Vanguard Season 2 preview

Fans are anxious for Season 2 of Vanguard because it is rumored to bring Ranked Play along with other major content updates. But there are too many issues which need to be addressed at the moment. The developers have promised more communication regarding Call of Duty’s state of play in the future and the studios working on the game will continue to adapt to community feedback.

The official blog revealed, “we’ve deployed a number of updates, but more needs to be done. For this reason, we have decided to reschedule the start of Season Two across Warzone Pacific and Vanguard to 14th February.”

The dev team will use the additional development time to fix bugs, improve game stability and make balance changes to the current meta. The core gameplay loop and its mechanics are also being looked at but the devs did not leave any insights on what to expect from the update next month just yet.

Performance improvements are also incoming for previous generation consoles. Players are unhappy with how Call of Duty: Vanguard runs on older hardware despite the game being marketed for both previous gen and current-gen consoles. The PC version of the game is also expected to receive some performance improvements in the next update. In addition to Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, there will be updates to Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare to “ensure an overall level of polish to improve the experience of players.”
