The Call of Duty (COD) community has been eagerly awaiting official news from Activision ever since there were leaks about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Now, the release date for the upcoming Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare 3, has finally been confirmed by the company, exciting fans and players.
Notably, news about Modern Warfare 3 was initially leaked back in May 2023 and these reports suggested a rough release window for the full title, along with other things like Warzone integration and a reveal event.
Following this, Activision remained silent without confirming any developments but on 7th August, Activision finally revealed COD Modern Warfare 3, the next title in the series, confirming the release date and the game's logo.
Activision Reveals Logo and Release Date for Modern Warfare 3
On 7th August, Activision finally confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 shall be launching on 10th November (Friday). The company is yet again sticking to its usual early-November release window.
The brief teaser for the game hinted at an intense and thrilling experience, as players will face "the ultimate threat" in Modern Warfare 3, with all signs pointing towards the return of classic Call of Duty antagonist Vladimir Makarov.
The teaser also revealed a stylized waveform image that seems to represent Makarov's face. Last year's Call of Duty title concluded with a post-credits cinematic that suggested a Russian terrorist force plotting to take over a commercial flight, with Makarov ominously uttering the words, "No Russian." This is a reference to the infamous level of the same name from 2009's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, where Russian terrorists commit a brutal massacre at a Moscow airport.
The logo is also something that the community is very well used to seeing. It combines the Modern Warfare (2019) and Modern Warfare 2 (2022) logo, using block Roman numerals to denote the number ‘3’. The only difference being that the logo is in red instead of the green seen in MW II.
More rumors have suggested that a reveal event is planned for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. According to COD leaker Alaix and also CharlieIntel, the in-game reveal event is schedule for 17th August in Warzone.
Notably, an open beta has yet to be revealed for MW3 but it is speculated that it will likely have the same time frame as Modern Warfare 2. MW2 had a ten-day open beta from 16th September to 26th September and a month later, the game was officially released.
Based on other leaks, here are some of the crucial dates for MW3:
Beta weekend 1: 6th October – 10th October
Beta weekend 2: 12th October – 16th October
Campaign Early Access: 2nd November
Full release: 10th November
Season 1 Launch / New Warzone Map – 5th December
