FURIA Esports beat Australs 3-0 at the VCT SA LCQ event to qualify for Valorant Champions.
FURIA's Khalil, Nowzerr and Xand ended the event as the top three fraggers with over 200 kills each.
The team will be joining Keyd Stars and Team Vikings to represent South America at the world championships in December 2021.

The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) South America (SA) Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) grand finals saw FURIA Esports beat Australs in a very convincing fashion to qualify for Valorant Champions. FURIA lost only 13 rounds across three games and it was by far the most one-sided grand finals among any of the LCQ events that have taken place so far. FURIA will be joining Team Vikings and Keyd Stars at Valorant Champions later this year in a bid to win the first-ever Valorant world championship.

FURIA Esports vs Australs Recap

Game 1 (FURIA won 13-2)

Khalil “Khalil” Schmidt and Augustin “Nozwerr” Ibarra raked in 24 kills each for FURIA as the Brazilian squad dominated Australs in the first match on Icebox. It was surprising to see Australs, a team that took out Valorant Masters Berlin competitor Havan Liberty earlier in the event, fail to keep up with FURIA.

Game 2 (FURIA won 13-6)

FURIA took a 9-3 lead in the first half and while things were evenly matched in the second half, it was too little too late on Australs' part to stop the Brazilian team from winning.

Game 3 (FURIA won 13-5)

FURIA won its third match in a row with a convincing 13-5 scoreline on Split. While it was not as explosive as the competitive grand finals of the EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa) and APAC (Asia Pacific) LCQ events, it was quite the dominant showcasing and is a time for celebrations for the Brazilian squad as it heads into Valorant Champions in December 2021.

FURIA vs Australs Highlights

FURIA’s Khalil, Nowzerr and Alexandre “Xand” Zizi ended as the top three fraggers at the event with the trio crossing 200 kills each.

Furia Esports will be joining Team Vikings and Keyd Stars later this year to represent the South American region at Valorant Champions. FURIA took out some of the best teams in the region on the way to the grand finals and it will be interesting to see how it fares against the best teams in the world at Champions which commences on 1st Dec 2021.
