Apex Legends Season 16 Might Allow Players to Get a Heirloom of Their Choice

Apex Legends' Season 16 Collection Event may offer 150 Heirloom Shards instead of having an associated Heirloom or Mythic Skin.
Another Collection event for Season 16 was leaked that may introduce Heirloom recolors for the first time.
Players may also get one or two free Collection Apex packs as part of the 4-year anniversary.

Apex Legends’ Collection events allow players to get Mythic Skins or Heirlooms which are the rarest cosmetics in the game. But if you miss an event, getting those coveted cosmetics can be very difficult. You need to hope for an Heirloom Shards drop from your Apex Packs to be able to craft an Heirloom or Mythic Skin. With the fourth anniversary coinciding with Season 16, it looks like players will finally be able to get guaranteed Heirloom Shards.

Apex Legends Season 16 Collection Event Details

The anniversary Collection event will feature recolors of older Legendary skins and unlocking all 24 cosmetics will unlock 150 Heirloom Shards for players. During the 2nd anniversary, the crafting cost of the cosmetics was halved which allowed a lot of players to unlock cosmetics using Crafting Materials, and effectively lowered the price of acquiring an Heirloom.

Since Year Two, we have not received a similar Collection Event with Heirloom Shards but the wait is finally over. Recent leaks suggest that we will get 150 Heirloom Shards from the Season 16 Collection event but the crafting cost of the cosmetics might not be reduced like Year Two.

There will be a total of 12 Epic cosmetics which cost 800 Crafting Materials each and 12 Legendary cosmetics which cost 2400 Crafting Materials each. We do not know if Respawn Entertainment will reduce the cost of crafting like the Year Two anniversary event considering recent recolors are being sold at full price.

If you want a specific Heirloom, the Season 16 Collection Event in Apex Legends will be the perfect opportunity to spend your Crafting Materials or Apex Coins. If you plan on purchasing Apex Coins, an EA Play subscription can get you a discount on your purchase.

Horizon and Ash’s Heirlooms were leaked recently alongside a recolor of Wraith’s Heirloom, so you can consider acquiring the 150 Heirloom shards and holding on to them until the newer heirlooms drop. Heirlooms and Mythic skins are purely cosmetic and they are not needed for gameplay purposes. Considering the hefty price tag of clearing out a full Collection Event, you should spend your hard-earned money wisely and purchase the cosmetics only if you really want the rare cosmetics or want to support the game.
