A new Hardcore Royale game mode is also making its debut as part of the Collection event.

Respawn Entertainment announced a new Collection event that is dropping on 24th January and it will run until 7th February. Collection events typically offer Heirlooms or Prestige Skins as part of the unlock rewards but this time around we are getting a recolor of the Season 3 Peacekeeper reactive skin which is a strange decision by EA and players are heavily criticizing the move.

How  to Unlock The Jadeite Retribution Peacekeeper Skin

There are 24 limited-time cosmetics, with Legendary skins for Octane, Pathfinder, Caustic, Ash and more. All 24 items will be available in exchange for Apex Coins or Crafting Metals and they will also be available in Celestial Sunrise Event Apex Packs for the entire duration of the event. If you unlock them all before the event ends, you’ll automatically receive “Jadeite Retribution”, a new Reactive Peacekeeper Skin.

Respawn has clearly stated that the skin is in the Legendary tier. There are also some free cosmetics that you can earn including a legendary R-99 skin, Apex packs, weapon charms, trackers and a badge.

Hardcore Royale debuts in Apex Legends

A new game mode is coming to Apex Legends and it ramps up the difficulty of the normal battle royale mode to eleven. Here is a summary of the game mode:

  • Limited HUD

  • White Armor Only

  • No Helmets

  • Armor doesn’t spawn in Deathboxes (No Armor Swapping)

  • Ring starts at max Damage

Armor is restricted to white armor only, and can’t be upgraded through dealing damage, crafting,  or looting. Helmets have also been removed making headshots more lethal. The mode is a variant of the Elite mode we had during the early days of Apex Legends but the developers cranked up the difficulty even further.

Special Valentine’s Date Night Event Incoming

Date Night includes a new healing mechanic exclusive to the takeover. Using any healing item will show an area around your Legend. If your Duos partner is in the area when you finish the heal, they’ll also receive the effects of the item.

Date Night also includes a Limited Time Weapon, The Heart Stealer. This is a romantic variant of the Bocek, which heals you a percentage of the damage you do. Just like Healing items; any healing from the bow is also given to your Partner if they’re close by.
