Apex Legends Season 11: New Tropic Island Map Revealed

Respawn Entertainment just released a new trailer revealing Apex Legends’ next map. The Tropic Island map will be launching on 2nd November alongside Season 11: Escape. The new season will introduce the new map, Ash as a new character, the C.A.R. SMG, a new battle pass and more. It has been a year since Apex received a brand-new map and players will finally have access to the game’s fourth map. The new map seems to feature some PVE elements in-game with dinosaur-like creatures stalking the forests as showcased in the trailer. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming season.

Apex Legends Tropic Island Overview

It looks like the new map will add some PVE elements to the game similar to Bloodhound’s Trials in World’s Edge and the dinosaurs in King’s Canyon. Respawn will release a more in-depth look at the game’s points of interest (POIs) and gameplay on 25th October 2021 at 8 PM PST.

The tropic island map in Apex Legends was first leaked back in 2020 along with Olympus by well-known data miner ‘Shrugtal.’ Both Tropic Island and Olympus were discovered by the data miner, and Respawn went on to release Olympus in Season 7 and Tropic Island is finally being added in Season 11. Just like Olympus, the new map will also feature vehicles which players can use to traverse around the map.

What else is coming to Apex Legends Season 11: Escape?

The new season will also introduce Ash as the game’s newest legend, who was first seen in Titanfall 2. In today’s trailer, it was revealed that Ash will have teleportation capabilities similar to Wraith’s portals. Her tactical ability is some kind of trap that binds and stuns enemies. She passively marks all deathboxes and also has the ability to find any surviving members of an enemy squad when near their death boxes.

The C.A.R. SMG from Titanfall 2 will be added to the game and it looks like it will be the first gun to use two types of ammo. The new weapon will be able to use both Light and Heavy ammo for alternate fire modes.

Battle pass content is yet to be revealed but considering it is the final major content update for 2021, players can expect a Christmas event sometime in December as well as the seasonal Collection event with a brand-new heirloom and cosmetics for players to unlock.
